For anyone else who lives in LA, I have to say that this place is the best overall workout spot. If you can stand the smell of dog pee - everyone brings their dogs here and I tell you what - and the idea of a rattle snake at any point in your path, this uphill incline is an ideal heart rate increaser!
Whenever I stop going to Runyon, I am always amazed when I come back. Where else can you hike straight up - just walking at a slow pace will get you heart jackhammering away - and catch a view while catching a workout. It's amazing. The only thing that truly sucks is the parking. But this place is busy, safe and really gets the job done. I give it several thumbs up!
