Walking never gets any credit. Consistently overshadowed by jogging, kickboxing, and a myriad of other more glamorous cardio workouts, walking just never gets any time in the spotlight.
However, walking can be extremely beneficial for your health. You can do it at any age and it is gentler on the body than most other sports.
The best part is it's free and you are still able to burn calories. Walking for 30 minutes a day can boost your health and limit your risk of diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. If you are trying to slim down, increase it to an hour and you will begin to see results.
Walking may not be a flashy form of fitness but it is constant a reliable - something we could all use more of in our busy and unpredictable lives.
