You cant eat flesh and support peace and love at the same time

Ive come to the realization now, that if you say that you are a true follower of Jesus or Buddha, you simply should not consume the flesh or milk of other creatures. The fact is, the idea of it wouldn't even cross your mind if you truly believed in their messages.
Why? Because the teachings of these individuals stressed PEACE for all beings, all life forms, with no exception. When you eat meat, you are supporting the mistreatment, poisoning, torture, and slaughter of innocent creatures simply for the profit of the meat industries. They also preached the idea of unity. The idea that we are actually one physical body, dispersed into countless forms. So the idea of killing animals needlessly would certainly go against this idea that "We are all one". And I believe that we are all one. Many different forms, but deep inside, resides the same individual in us all. Remove all the human experience in this present life, and you will uncover pure conciousness, and that is who I am talking about. Name it as you wish, but that individual is us. We are its physical body, experiencing the ever-evolving creation.
At first, i thought the hypocrisy only existed in Christianity. Many people say they are Christians, but they actually serve the god of money well before anything else. Many often support needless wars, engage in materialism, and an overwhelming majority eat the flesh of innocent animals raised purely for their slaughter. But upon going to Nepal, I found the same hypocrisy in Buddism. Many arm-chair buddists (i.e. sunday-repenting christians) still eat flesh. They have pictures of the Buddha on the wall (just like Jesus in the US) but they fail to see that they can also reach the level of the buddha, and live against his teachings. Only the highest orders of buddism will abstain from eating flesh. In the monasteries, they still eat alot of cooked vegetables and milk, but no meat will be found.
I believe that if you are truly enlightened, avoiding meat and dairy is a complete no-brainer.
#1, eating flesh is an unnatural diet for us. If you compare our digestive systems with that of herbivores and carnivores, ours completely mimic the herbivores, and look nothing like the carnivores. Anthropologists have confirmed that meat only entered into our diets roughly 100,000 years ago, so that means that for only 2% of our existence here on earth we have been eating meat. The other 98% we ate leaves and fruits and roots and seeds. This is what our bodies have adapted to. Not meat. Meat is a new addition. And cooking with fire is an even more recent addition, again, completely against the ideals of nature. Everything should be eaten without the use of fire as well.
#2, You are what you eat. When you eat meat, you are eating the pain...the torture...the fear...the stress...the death of an innocent animal. Think of what was going through the mind of that animal seconds before it was going to be murdered. Think of all the stress released into its muscles. It knows whats going to happen, it can hear the cries of the others before it. You are consuming fire and death when you eat meat. Not only that, but you are consuming whatever it was that the innocent animal was consuming. So unless you know what that chicken or turkey or pig or cow was eating, you are taking a big gamble. Ever heard of Mad Cow disease? YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT. This is universal knowledge here. Avoid pain and death and torture.
#3, Its been shown that animals fats completely wreak havoc on our bodies, and numerous studies have shown that a lighter plant based diet produces higher energy levels with less need for sleep. Protein? You need about 25% that they've told you, and you can get it from leafy greens, nuts, seeds. My favorite sources are hemp-seed, brazil nuts, and spinach. I have to look good for my profession, and this is the diet that works. Energy, good skin, good muscles...it provides it all.
Be a true proponent of Peace. Stop consuming the flesh of innocent creatures. Isnt this decision obvious? Once the meat is out of your system, the cravings will go away. Getting rid of bread and crackers will prove to be much harder, I assure you.
Look at all the environmental damage that is done to our only planet because of the meat based diet. All the water and food that goes into the animals before we kill them...all the manure and urine that goes into the water supply...all the energy that goes into the slaughterhouses and feedlots to produce the meat. Its so needless, and it does our bodies and our earth nothing but damage.
No true follower of Christ or The Buddha can honestly call themselves that and support this madness. Look into your heart and see the Christ and the Buddha that resides within you. Make that decision, and be a part of the solution. Evolve to the next level, and do yourself and everyone else on this planet a big favor.
Thank you so much for reading this, I truly do appreciate it. I love you all, and I want you to reach the levels that I know you are capable of. Leave the meat and dairy behind, and embrace the diet that nature intended. If you have any questions, and need any help whatsoever, I will put in whatever time is needed to help you. I found this path mostly on my own, and with books and the internet discovered more. If I would have had someone close to help me, the transition would have happened much sooner.
