Tuesday Tropical Storm Smoothie

Have you heard that old saying: “great minds think alike”? Well, it’s true!

Imagine my surprise yesterday as I envisioned a delicious smoothie made from ingredients I had on hand:

fresh strawberries



coconut milk

almond butter (she used pb)

… when I logged on to Raw Juice Girl’s Facebook account and realized that my business partner, Mysti Reutlinger, had already posted the very smoothie I was dreaming about ?!

Crazy, huh?

I did enjoy that same smoothie yesterday but today I whipped up a slightly different version and thought I’d post it here for you all to enjoy as well.

Instead of coconut milk, I used coconut water (with pulp) and I snuck in extra greens with a single serving packet of Amazing Grass (Barley, Wheat Grass, Alfalfa). The frozen banana gave it a luscious, smooth texture.





  • 5 (big) fresh strawberries (with tops)
  • handful fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 small frozen bananas
  • 1 cup coconut water (with pulp)
  • 1 serving Amazing Grass (Barley Wheat Grass, Alfalfa)



  1. Toss all ingredients into the blender (putting frozen banana chunks on the bottom).
  2. Press ice crush until the ingredients start whirling.
  3. Once the banana is blended, press blend or grind.
  4. Lastly, press the liquefy button. I like this as it seems to create an extra-smooth smoothie for me.

(Makes two (approx. 10 ounce) servings or one large serving.)



This tropical storm smoothie was super hydrating, energizing, and delicious. I loved every last drop!
