Tell Me 10 Things You Love About Yourself!

- by Tera Warner

Recently, I did an interview with Carol Look, “Why You’ll Never Get Thin if You Feel Fat.” This was a fabulous interview and loaded with inspiration and kick-butt energy for all those who have ever struggled with carrying excess weight, or just having a poor self-image.

On that call, Carol shared a few helpful ideas I’d like you to take note of:

You could lock a person who has a poor self-image in a room with no food for 30 days, and they would still gain weight. It’s not about food, it’s about energy!

Your resistance is how you resist the things you want and are able to create for yourself. Things like limiting beliefs and negative thoughts: “I can’t, I won’t, I shouldn’t, I’m not allowed to, I’m too big.”

TAPPING is Carol’s favourite way of handling these and you can listen to her interview for a few live examples of how that works.

Nothing will change in your body, until you change your vibration and your energy.

You can put yourself in a better mood about anything.  If you hear yourself say, “but I can’t get in a better mood about my body,” then change topics. You need to change your vibrations – change your energy – and that’s how you create the ‘success’ you’re looking for with your body.

Carol insisted that one of the most powerful tools, and her favorite ways of improving energy is to start by making a list of “10 Things I Love About Myself,” and as mentioned above, when that’s tough, then “10 Things That Are Going Well.”

So here’s the deal:

Yesterday in an email I announced a winner of the BE program. And reading through all those amazing stories, I wanted to find a way for even more people to be able to participate who would not otherwise have the opportunity to do so!

If I just give away the program, I’ll invalidate those who have invested, and I’ll also invalidate myself, the program and the work that has gone into it and will continue to go into it.

THIS IS NOT A LOW-SUPPORT PROGRAM!!!

This isn’t some e-book we pass to you and then leave you to fend for yourself. That’s been done before and we know it didn’t work.

We are giving you a LIFETIME of access to this program and we’ll be there every step of the way doing whatever we can to assure you make it through and stick with it long after the 30-days are over.

In the comment section below, write a list of  “10 Things I Love About Myself/10 Things That Are Great About Me.” (Which means YOU, right. Not me. It’s 10 things you love about yourself!)

If you do it once, we’ll give you a $10 credit toward Body Enlightenment.

If you do it twice in a row, we’ll give you a $20 credit toward Body Enlightenment.

If you do it three times in a row, we’ll give you a $30 credit…

When 10 days are done, our registrations close and you will have earned a $100 credit toward Body Enlightenment!!

(If you’ve already purchased the program, then STAY TUNED! We will also credit you with $100, and believe me there are some VERY exciting  things coming, so this credit will be a great thing to have in your pocket!!)

That’s the bottom line.

10 days in a row.

10 dollars a day.

$100 credit toward Body Enlightenment, and you’ll start with the rest of us on November 8th when we kick off our preparation week for the program!

Just post your list of 10 things below in the comment section of the blog. Then you come back here EVERY day for 10 days and post it again, and again, and again. And you see and celebrate all the amazing beautiful things other women are celebrating about themselves.

Heck, in 10 days you might not even need Body Enlightenment anymore!!

What if You Can’t Even Round Up $200 to get LIFETIME access to this program?

If you REALLY don’t have the money, and you REALLY don’t know how to round it up or beg, borrow and steal, or you simply don’t feel comfortable making the investment, then here’s another offer:

If you come here EVERY day for 30 days, and you share 10 things you love about yourself with the WHOLE, WIDE WORLD, then we will absolutely give you access to the Body Enlightenment program.

Unfortunately, by the time 30 days comes around our current program will already be well underway, but you will then qualify to take the program when we run it again. However, we’ve not yet decided the dates.

If you have the guts and commitment to get up here and share great things about yourself with the world for 30 days, then you’re someone we want with us and we’ll do everything we can to support you.

It’s not about money, honey.

It’s about doing what it takes to make the world a better place. It’s about fair exchange and having the courage to love ourselves in spite of the reasons we tell ourselves to do otherwise.

So, that’s the deal!

So go on! Tell me 10 things you love about yourself and let the games begin!!

Okay! I’ll kick off this party by starting first.

For the record, I woke up this morning and it’s been a crappy, crusty morning. My 8-year old has done everything he cane to make a mess of my space and my head.

I’m sitting here messy haired, frazzled, fed up and and late for a meeting. I’ve been on the verge of tears for the last two hours. So please don’t think I pulled this out of a mega collection sitting on the tips of my fingers.

I had to dig this morning quite a bit myself.

    1. I love that in spite of generations of habits telling me to scream at my kids, I don’t. I talk. I wait. I negotiate. I let them learn things the hard way–by missing out and learning how to manage their own times.

2.TODAY!! I got an email from the man who was my very first kiss. It’s a BEAUTIFUL story.. maybe I”ll share it somewhere!! Made my day!

    3. I made myself two liters of green juice this morning. RAWKSTAR!!

    4. I’m going to Hawaii and taking my kids and going to have an incredible time with some of the most amazing people in the whole, wide world.

    5. I made chia pudding for the kids this morning–packed with superfoods.

    6. I love that I pulled off getting this email and blog post done.

    7. I love that I’m going to get dressed and ready in under 4 minutes and out the door, and that I WILL be on time for our next appointment.

    8. I DID IT!! I release Body Enlightenment and it’s beautiful and inspiring and soooooooo what I’ve been wanting and waiting for.

    9. I get to look out my window to a forest haven and a dreamy, misty-covered lake and it makes feel SO grateful.

    10. I love that I commit to loving myself just a little bit more every day, and that most days, it works!

    11. I love that you’re here, helping me make it all happen…

Thanks for the start-off! You are certainly someone to emulate! Thank you so much for that. Feb 13th, after 24-1/2 years of marriage, my husband tells me he wants his freedom. (Feb 14th he gives me a Valentine??!!). This past almost 9 months has been a living hell. I celebrated my 25th anniversary and 53rd birthday alone. Now, I nearly dread the holidays because of my “limbo” status. Sept. 17th he moved out and in with my (no longer) girlfriend of 18+ years. This has been a really really rough time; but at the same time, I have found my way to your website, started attending al-anon meetings, go to counseling weekly, working on my weight and health and started Yoga 3 weeks ago now. So, I think you so much Tera!

Wow. This really is a challenge, especially since I need to lose 100 pounds… But I am going to focus now on positive things…
    1. I am a good mom. I was even up all night taking care of two of my four kids as they were vomiting and miserable with a stomach virus.
    2. I love deeply and am fiercely loyal.
    3. I have great empathy for others.
    4. I believe in myself and my ability as a singer/songwriter and novelist.
    5. I am eccentric and unique… And am choosing to believe that this is a good thing.
    6. I am an excellent listener.
    7. Deep inside I have the body, mind, and fierce passion of a warrior… And she is being released!
    8. Despite my tendency to be utterly spontaneous I am finally learning to be more disciplined so that I accomplish the goals I have. I am very proud of myself for this.
    9. I am trustworthy.
    10. I am very creative, artistic, have a super vivid imagination, and am determined to dedicate these qualities to changing the world
around me one story, song, poem, and hug at a time.

and now that I read what I wrote I am in tears. Tera, this list writing assignment was for ME if no one else… Though it is going to change many lives. This is powerful stuff. I am going to keep posting this list and choosing to speak it aloud over myself. There is great power in what we speak over ourselves. Instead of speaking death I am going to speak LIFE over myself by reading this list. Thank you for inspiring me to write this out!

Excellent list! The thought of coming up with 10 things at first is so frightening! And then, so beautiful to see how it flows!

  4. By Kate on Oct 29, 2011

Okay this will be harder today because I’ve been feeling especially down lately but here goes:
    1. I have a friend back in another state that is going through a really bad time but I know I’ve been able to be there for her. We’re talking a lot on the phone, more than when we lived close by, and I know she trusts me to tell me things she isn’t telling anyone else.
    2. My son keeps changing his mind about his Halloween costume and I’m staying calm and supportive even though time to get things together is growing short.
    3. I didn’t clean the kitchen last night just because I really needed a break and I’m not beating myself up about it.
    4. I found a bird feeder and seed that the goldfinches love!
    5. We’ve been having family walks every night for months now and it’s a routine that we all enjoy.
    6. I just started a new job after being a stay at home Mom for many years and I’ve been braver than I thought I could be about all the transition.
    7. The manager at my new job, who was the reason that the person before me quit, has not been a problem for me to get along with at all and even gave me a hug when I left work this morning.
    8. My son’s friends always want to come over to our house.
    9. I have been doing my new workout right on schedule for two weeks now and it feels really good.
    10. Even though I have some hard days, I keep on trying to raise my vibration and love myself and others unconditionally.

    7. I like that I’m flexible. I’m really good at going with the flow and not getting bent out of shape when things change course.

    8. I love that I work hard to communicate with the families of kids in my class. I really do believe in the home-school connection and though it takes a lot of work, I’m committed to it.

    9. I love that I enjoy healthy food. I LOVE green smoothies and am so excited to learn more about healthy eating.

    10. I love I have the enthusiasm to do this program with everything I have. I have a bunch of health problems related to years of not taking care of myself….but I just feel this time is different. Every blog post you write, Tera, feels like you are talking to right to my heart.

I will be back and back and back (9 more times to be exact…:)

Then I’M SIGNING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have put it in the universe that I need the money and it will come…:)

This is a wonderful assignment! Here goes…

    1. I love that I decided to honor myself last week with a 6-day vacation/retreat away – alone! I needed that time to sit, be quiet and dream about what I want for my future.

    2. I love that I made fresh delicious green juice for myself for 5 days straight while on my vacation/retreat.

    3. I love that while driving back home today, I was so determined to keep going with the juice that I stopped at the grocery store and picked up more greens and such so that I could make more fresh juice right away.

    4. I love that I’m a good mom. When I’m away from my kiddos, I miss them terribly and they miss me too.

    5. I love that I have been a devoted wife to my hubby for 20 years now. (That is such an accomplishment for me.)

    6. I love that I can laugh easily, and that I do so often. :)

    7. I love that even though I have fallen on my face many times when it comes to getting back in shape, I still believe in Barbara and keep getting back up.

    8. I love that I am a believer in dreams. I used to be an aerobics instructor (8 years ago) and today, I enrolled in a program to get my certification reinstated. I’m a tiny bit scared, but I’m going for it! This is a birthday present to me.

    9. I love my taste buds. Yup, that’s right. I’m so glad that instead of finding them yucky or tolerable, I like the taste of greens, lemons, cocount oil, avocados, celery and lots of other good-for-you foods! Love that!

    10. I love that I find the study of English a fun endeavor. I know, that sounds crazy, but I do! I used to be a high school English teacher and now I tutor kids in reading and spelling and I enjoy it so much.

Thank you for this “assignment.” I needed it!

This is very hard for me. I’m a year into post partum depression – on the mend but there are many dips still. I don’t think I can muster up 10 things I love about myself, so I’ll start with what I can and finish the list with what is going well in my life.

    1. I love that despite my history with my family, that I am creating a new family now, where communication and respect are at the heart of our little family.
    2. I love my little daughter more than words can say, and I love that when she looks at me we are able to truly see each other. I love that I see and respect her in a way which I haven’t experienced
    3. I love when my cooking makes people come together and be happy
    4. My husband loves and supports me (even through this last year of trials)! I feel very lucky to have him.
    5. I am working at a job that allows for and expects me to keep learning.
    6. The home we live in is light and warm, even in the dark of winter.
This is getting quite difficult now…
    7. I have friends and family in my life that ate there for me. All I have to do is ask (isn’t that always the hardest part?)
    8. I am learning to be a working mom – a harder job than any I could have imagined! So far it seems to be going ok, although I’m only working part time yet.
    9. I’m glad I realized it would be too much for me and too overwhelming to return to work full-time, and was able to stand my ground in order to make arrangements so I could return part time.
    10. I now know that I can complete a 24-hour water fast! Woohoo!
Ok. So maybe a bit of a stretch on number 10, but that’s the best I can do today.
maybe tomorrow my list will be even more full of positive vibrations. (I’m hoping your other lists will rub off on me! Reading them is very uplifting!)

    Here are my 10 things:

    1. I love that I can empathize with just about everyone, in just about any situation. Because of this I’m unable to judge others. There is only understanding and love.

    2. I love that I am a good mom.

    3. I love that my #1 talent is learning. If I’m interested in something, I can saturate that topic and absorb everything instantly. Because of this, I’m able to become incredibly proficient in areas of interested much faster than the average person.

    4. I love that I make sure my family has a sit-down dinner at home, 7 days a week.

5, I love that I keep trying every time I fail. There is no getting me down so far that I feel defeated. And I have been through trials that many could never imagine.

    6. I love that I choose happiness and peace over drama and taking things personally. This has been a challenge but i’m on the other side of the “hump” and choose positivity more often than negativity.

    7. I love my long hair, and the freckle on my top lip

    8. I love my eyes and skin

    9. I love the home I have created. It’s small. It’s far from fancy. But it’s a HOME that makes us all feel loved and comforted.

    10. I love that I have the ability to heal myself both physically and emotionally, and that I CHOOSE healing rather than laying down and giving up.

    Tera,

Thanks so much for asking… it is a reeeeal good idea! Not easy, but I feel better already just thinking about this.

10 things I love about myself:

    1) I love that I keep tuning into these great emails and that I’m willing to participate in this amazing request/offer even though I feel all kinds of resistance on many levels come up and up and up! Onward!

    2) I love that I feel deeply, and that when reading others’ replies, it brings tears to my eyes — tears of empathy, joy, shared celebration of everyone’ love, of themselves and of others.

    3) I very often go the extra mile with people I don’t even know that well… to bring them some compassion, or help, or knowledge that “it’s OK to go through what you are going through”.

    4) I make lovely little beds all over the house for our two kitties, Grace and Simon. The beds change places (so they aren’t taking over the house), but I know our kitties appreciate the comfort and the novelty.

    5) I love that I am “getting” that we all need to start right where we are at — whatever it is we are wanting to do or “be”. Just be in the moment, and go from there.

    6) I love that I get out of bed in the middle of the night and give my husband a foot massage when he can’t sleep.

    7) I love that I persist in learning about health, and sometimes I even do/eat healthy things!

    8) I love that I’m OK with spending some time alone — that solitude is a good thing in my book, rather than a sign of unhappiness.

    9) I love that I built the fire in our wood stove today and we are all enjoying the benefits of the warmth and atmosphere it provides.

    10) I love that I am finally learning to accept myself, and love myself, as I am now … not putting that off until I’m “better”. This list-making helps :)

    Thank you.
    with Love,
    Patricia

Just to clarify, we didn’t have a life in finances (we were in publishing), it’s just that I actually had some finances (ie: $$)when I had a FT job, and now the farm is more of a vocation, and we are still trying to make it work! But it is lovely and I am sticking with it. vermontberries.com if you want to see it. :)

Tera, you are so wonderful for this! I have been following along with your grand opening and really loved everything your new program stands for. I would love to be able to afford the program for this first go-round but I am a university student with such limited funds; I care deeply about what I am studying and I know I will be able to help people, in turn, after my studies but it means a certain amount of self-sacrifice first. You ROCK!

This next 30 days should be very interesting. :)

    1. I love that I have gone back to school at such a weird time in my life. I’m 28 and finished my first undergraduate degree last year. I felt I had more to learn and came back this year to start a whole new degree program–in nutrition! I am scared out of my mind but loving every growing second of it.

    2. I’m proud that I have really tried to continue to show love and compassion toward my family (who are wonderful) even though they are uncertain about my lifestyle choices (like being a vegetarian, an endurance athlete, and health conscious).

    3. Between university years, I spent last November living on an ashram to learn to teach yoga. It was the beginning of my unfurling! Again, was scared out of my mind and felt a little sick and terrified even on the plane ride out there but I am so proud I did it. I lived there for a month, communing, praying, and becoming ALIVE. Now that I have awoken that passion and hunger, I cannot seem to turn it off. It makes me so happy to feel it!

    4. I love everyone. And I don’t mean that as a euphemism. It’s part of why I want to become a dietitian. I look at people and I see all the love, compassion, energy, intelligence, and potential of our species. We are, truly, still such spiritual infants that we have not yet learned to fully harness this potential, I think, but it will come. I will work my whole life to do my part to help it come. As one of my favorite songwriters says, “We shall be free.”

    5. This is silly but I am so happy that I am starting to learn my own style. I used to feel so uncomfortable shopping for clothes because I am tall and that makes me feel awkward often. In recent years, I have finally just let go and gone with it. I feel so much more confident and my fiance is so happy that I am not so insecure any longer. (He has always thought I looked beautiful, apparently lol)

    6. I am so proud that I have gotten to know my nieces and nephew better lately. They are still very young but they are old enough now to really know who I am and remember me from visit to visit. I have never felt the electric thrill before that I get when my youngest niece, Emma, looks up at me from across the room with her beautiful baby eyes and squeals, “Want Casi!” (my name) It chokes me up every time.

    7. I am awesome for sticking it out with my fiance. Not that he is not equally awesome. But we celebrated 7 years together last summer and it has hit us of late just how difficult our relationship made our twenties. We’re both wonderful people who love each other very much. But we have both had some very hard things to deal with during those years (what twentysomething doesn’t!) and through it all, we just can’t quit each other. :) We don’t always agree but we’re on the same side. And when it comes down to it, I know he’s got my back. Best friends for life and all that lol.

    8. Riding my bike. This is another odd one but I was training for a marathon earlier in the year and had to give it up because I just couldn’t keep to the training schedule with the school hours added in. I was really sad and disappointed but I decided to just compensate everywhere I could so as not to lose my momentum. I started riding my bike to work more (in addition to trying some other types of fitness) and feel so good, I’m thinking of switching that goal to a triathlon next summer. Yay!

    9. I am acing Chemistry. Which was unthinkable to me even a few short weeks ago. Amazing.

    10. Teaching yoga, attending college classes, chemistry homework, housework, ACTUAL work, cooking cleaning, taking care of my boyfriend and dog, finding time for family and friends. Despite all this craziness, I still find time for things like this. Because I believe I am worthwhile. I think that is what I like most about myself. That I do, in fact, actually LIKE myself. <3

    Hi, Casi

Just wanted to congratulate you on going back to school despite financial challenges. What a beautiful list that you just ran off. I, too, wanted to go back to school for nutrition; I use the knowledge every day with myself and my family (my son who has autism has been on various diets).

This was a great idea that Tera and the Divas came up with. I wish you all the best!

    Dear Casi,
I loved your list! I am a person who often writes alot (though I’m not right now), and then I usually think that I’ve written too much, and so it was lovely to see your unabashed, sensitive, full of kindness, expression!
    Thx for all your sharing…
    LOVEly!

And…. (me again … see above!),

Also, I was just thinking about doing a Nutrition course (online, for a year, “Integrative Nutrition”) — Not sure about timing yet but was nice to hear your tale.
I’m an organic berry farmer, gave up a “career”, dealing with finances, 50 years old (I guess I love that!), and … just thanking you for your inspiration!

To be honest, it’s hard for me to come up with things I like about myself because I have been lost and feel tapered in my body and have made a habit of never looking in the mirror… But I want a new life, so I will try very hard to list what I love (or am trying to love) about myself.

    1. I love that I am interested in changing my life through holistic health and nutrition.

    2. I love that I am an introvert, or to be more specific, that I am a total INFP–myers briggs type.

    3. I love my fingernails as I trends to think they look great naturally.

    4. I love my dreams of being a writer, and I love my ideas and writing style.

    5. I love my taste in style and decor.

    6. I love that I am a good gift-giver.

    7. I love that I am not like everyone else, that I have always been on a slightly different wavelength from others.

    8. I love that I have survived many traumas in my life and that while I am weather-torn, I am still fighting.

    9. I love that I am artistic and creative.

    10. I love that I try to go outside my comfort zone sometimes, even though I am afraid!

    Kim,

After seeing your reply above to Casi (which came through as I was writing a reply), I think scrolled up to look for your list. I think I’ve found it (below, not up!). It IS so heartening to see/read these lists (though it is time for me to “move along” now!)… I loved how you said about forgiving yourself. That is so key, isn’t it? Just a wonderful, amazing, ABSOLUTE WEALTH of positivity and love in all these lists…
Makes me think how much better our “news” would be if we reported happy things!!!!! Just as this exercize can turn one’s focus to the positive about oneself, reading positive news could transform our experience of the world and each other. TRULY, there is a need for a NEWS channel with just GOOD, LOVING news!!!

    well, on that note…
    thanks again for your list,
    and your comments on others,
    with Love!

And right now I’m just a bunch of happy tears. So very nice to connect. Tera, about a year ago, after the end of the 2010 berry season, I found your site and began to read and write voraciously. That all dropped off with the berry season (new farmers learnin’ to do the organic farm thang…. very intense!) — Lovely to be back and see all the good feeling —
Thank you much for your great offerings, every day! Very helpful.
My new Love list posted separately below.

#1 – My most favourite thing about myself is my SMILE, I especially love the effect it has on other people.

#2 – I love that I’m not ashamed to cry, and that I’m almost always able to find something to smile about afterwards.

#3 – I love the way I can make my body move when I’m dancing and the freedom it gives me.

#4 – I love that no matter how many times I fail at something, I’m always brave enough to try again.

#5 – I love it that I can be completely content in my own company.

#6 – I love it that I’m never afraid to dream big!

#7 – I love that I’m learning to patiently forgive myself for my shortcomings & in turn do the same to others.

#8 – I love that I’m gaining the courage to meet my fears head-on!

#9 – I love that others opinions of me are slowly becoming less important as I learn to be content with myself.

#10 – I love that I’m not afraid to go against the grain and live life a lil differently :)

That was a lil bit fun, after the lowest week I can ever remember in my life – it is nice to know I can still find things to be thankful for :)

    6. I love that I have learned to have compassion for anyone whose hearts’ been broken, it can be for different reasons but broken hearts all hurt the same.

    7. I love that I’ve found nutrition and gentle self-care at this time in my life without having to be driven by a diagnosis.

    8. I love that I do my best to see my children as two independent human beings with basic human rights who have come to this eath with their own gifts and talents and their own path to forge in life. :)

    9. I love that I have learned to appreciate small beauties around me. .. the moon, a sunrise, the smell of someone I love.

    10. And I love how much I love to dance and move my body. . especially in those moments I try to steal when I think nobody is looking! :)

    Day 1 list:

    1. I love that I have a remarkably loyal and supportive mother; my mum relentlessly tells me how beautiful and smart I am and it’s the most comforting, uplifting feeling to have your mother be your biggest supporter.

    2. I love that with such an amazing mum and equally supportive dad, I have come to love a growing list of physical aspects of myself and going back to such positive thoughts, especially when I am unhappy with other parts of myself has the power to alter my energy (I now wonder why I even let myself go to such sad thoughts); I love my eyes, eyebrows, lips and well aligned teeth. I love my long, dark wavy hair. I love my breasts – all natural baby – lol! I love my belly button. I love my strong, long fingernails and hands. I love my feet. I have come to love and appreciate the colour of my golden brown skin.

    3. I love that I am a fiercely loyal and passionate person.

    4. I love that I can appreciate the beauty in most things even when others criticize.

    5. I love how clear I feel in those few quiet moments of the morning.

    6. I love how strong I feel in my core – despite being off exercise for the last few months.

    7. I love that I finally went back to yoga this morning after 10 months of running away from it. My goal is to get back to practicing yoga 5-6 times a week. I want to let it change my life again.

    8. I love that I am naturally moving towards all the deliciousness of vegetables and fruits and looking to reduce if not eliminate meat in my daily diet.

    9. I love that I ate really healthy today, shared a delicious vegetarian meal with a cute boy I like (haha) and listened to what my body wanted today – I had a remarkable green smoothie for dinner and feel amazing.

    10. I love that despite feeling lonely tonight, I treated it as alone time and nurtured myself with meaningful connections, life giving food and stumbling upon the magnificent TERA WARNER’s BE Program. I am on a journey of self love and compassion and I realise it starts with every kind moment, so thank you for this opportunity wonderful TERA!

Okay, this is really challenging. I have never let myself love anything about myself, so I don’t even know where to begin. I am just not allowed, don’t deserve good feelings about me. I wonder if I can pull this off in earnest. I know I could just make up a list, but that wouldn’t be in the spirit of things, would it? No, I need a real, genuine list:

    1. I love that God loved me enough to give me 3 beautiful daughters. I don’t know why, but He did, and I could not feel more loved.
    2. I love that I have a researchers mind. Nothing can rest in my mind until I have learned a fair amount about it.
    3. I do love my eyes, I think they are gorgeous.
I am really struggling here. This is really hard. I am not sure where to go from here.
    4. I love that I took my oldest daughter and 2 friends to a game place today, and she wanted to play with ME!
    5. I love that my husband wants me.
    6. I love that I love veggies and am teaching my girls to love veggies.
    7. I love that I am a cowgirl at heart and would rather be outside in the dirt than in a department store.
    8. I love my inner masculinity, sometimes. I really love how I don’t need to wait for others in most cases, I can do for myself.
    9. I love my strength.
    And finally,
    10. I love that I am not a snob.
Whew, so hard I am sweating.

Well, I missed yesterday so I will see if I can dig down and find 20 things.
    1. My desire to see the good in people.
    2. The fact that despite how horrible a teenager I was to my parents, whatever I did right I’m getting the benefit of now with mine.
    3. My hair. It may be falling out, but it’s still long and shiny and a color that people would love to get their strands on.
    4. My faith in myself. I know that no matter what when the chips are down, I will do what needs to be done.
    5. I’m a great friend. I don’t have many friends, but the ones I have know that they can count on me to be there for them and tell it like it is.
    6. I know it drives other people nuts, but my logic is one thing I LOVE about myself. I’m annoyingly hyperlogical. Others may hate it but I think it helps me to deal with the world.
7.I love that I finally went back to school. I’ve been talking about it for years and I finally got in there and did it…started Monday as a matter of fact.
    8. My love and respect for animals.
    9. My love and respect for the Earth.
    10. I love how I break into random song and dance throughout the day.
    11. My Dad used to tell me I was so full of crap my eyes were turning brown, but I don’t care, they’re pretty eyes.
    12. I love that I’m an awesome mom. I know that a lot of parents think that, but my 16 year old daughter continues to tell me that (and her friends too) no matter how many times I tell her that she’s supposed to hate me at her age. lol
    13. I love that (for the most part) I don’t let my temper get away from me.
    14. I love that I’m self-sufficient. There are very few things I won’t attempt to fix myself.
    15. I love that I finally grew into liking living in a clutterless environment.
    16. My ability to make people laugh.
    17. My inability to get embarrassed.
    18. The fact that despite the fact I’m about 70 pounds overweight, I’m pretty darn graceful.
    19. My flexibility despite my size.
    20. My ability to adapt to new situations.

Phew…that wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be!

Wow.. Tera.. this is amazing. This is the greatest new years gift ever. But I’ll tell you all in my list:

    1. I love that I actually take the leap of faith to participate in this despite being late one day (due to time zones) instead of berating myself of being late because it is a sign of treating me how I treat others.
    2. I love that my very cute and strong coven sister is sleeping on the couch after we talked until the wee hours of the morning about miscarriages and child death because it amazes me what kind of relationships I have been able to build as an adult.
    3. I love that I woke up this morning and had faith again in my body healing itself after loosing that for a while because it shows I never give up.
    4. I love my body because it is amazing – despite me mistreating it it still loves me back.
    5. I love my thyroid especially because it has done without hormone supplementation for 6 amazing months now.
    6. I love my fat belly because I still think it wants to tell me something and than disappear.
    7. I love that I’m awake because that’s not really something I could take for granted for a long way.
    8. I love my ability to learn languages.
    9. I love my intuition, because it has saved me so many times.
    10. I love everything about me that has lead my to write this post because I finally feel as if I had a way on towards the light again.

Thank you sooo much Tera, I know this exercise alone will change a lot and make me stand through this difficult time with my body and life.

    Let me think hmmmmm,
    1.- I love my eyes
2.- I love the desire within to reach out to people and offer truth, love and care. I love to be in community, there is no better classroom then community living.
3.- I love my gift to celebrate life, not only mine but others too (I love to celebrate people’s birthdays, specially when they are foreigners and have no family around at all. Sometimes I have been surprised by being the first person to have celebrated their birthdays at ALL)
4.- I love my hands, I think they are beautiful!
5.- I love my freckles and moles, they are sexy!
6.- I love to be a woman and experience the gift of motherhood, what a privilege! (I have 3 kids)
7.- I love my name! it is very unique and I love the meaning as a declaration over me “Beauty”
8.- I love the desire within me to stand against injustice and see people walk in freedom (I have felt this way since I am able to remember) I love freedom, I love truth! I love the truth of who we are meant to be, I love it!
    9.- I love my butt! hehehehe ;P
10.- I love the curls in my hair, my hair is naturally very curly
It was inspiring to have to think of things I love about myself, it took me sometime to think and think and really ask myself.
… And I would love to be part of the Body Enlightenment!

Tera you are amazing. I really don’t have 200 dollars because I live in Montenegro and my salary is 320 euros (1 euro = 1.4 dollars)so for me this is the only way to participate in Body Enlightenment in the future. I am so happy because you are giving this chance to all of us who want and need this but don’t have the money.

It’s not easy task to write 10 things I love about myself but I’ll try.

1.I cuddled with my beatiful dog at 5 a.m. and he made me happy and I made him happy.

    2. I was glad I didn’t eat anything except green smoothie and a kefir yeasterday in the evening otherwise I would feel awful at 5 a.m. today.

    3. I looked at the mirror and felt good about the fact that I have only very tiny and barely wisible wrinkle at the age of 35.

    4. I am sad for the last few weeks but I love about myself that I am trying really hard to find the solution for my love life (having beatiful boyfriend who loves me and I love him but we are just not happy for quite some time).

    5. I became friend on FB with some great people whom I’ll meet very soon in the local dog shelter.

    6. The sun is coming into my office and that is making me smiling although I have to work on Sunday (and every other day).

    7. I called my mom and I hope I made her day at least a little bit better.

    8. I flossed my teeth.

    9. wow this is hard, thinking and talking good things about myself but it feels good and awkward at the same time.

    10. I have hope that everything will be good, that Universe will help me and maybe everything is happening for some reason, for some higher purpose.

    Love you Tera.

I don’t think my list, which I typed on my phone last night before falling asleep, came on. So here it comes:

I love that – for me the glass IS always full to overflowing… That may not be the reality around me…

I Love the air that I breathe

I Love using my senses to appreciate – beauty is all around

I love the joy that I see in each of my children’s little faces.

I Love Loving my husband and supporting him to be the best he can be

I Love bring my children up with values that will make a positive difference in our world

I am completely amazed that it is sooo hard to acknowledge what I actually like about me. but
    1. I love that tho its so hard I am doing it anyway.
    2. I love the three miracles that are my beautiful children.
    3. i love the fact that 12 years after number 2 I got to do number 3 :) here’s hoping for a number 4 :)
    4. i love the fact that tho I am most often sleep deprived and short fused my kids love me anyway.
    5. i love the fact that tho the extent of our rawness totals to a salad most days and trying to put in some green smoothie thingys occasionally, I am here on these blogs hoping to learn more and to get the courage to include more raw and re-find some energy and clarity and focus.
    6. i love the fact that through great adversity in the past year we are still standing where we were called to be. Maybe a bit frazzled around the edges (smoke still coming off :) ) but still standing and hopefully wiser and stronger because of it.
    7. I love that i am trying to learn that in great giving out one must recharge and refuel or you crash and simply are no use to anyone anymore so recharge, refuel.
    8. I love the music team I get to work with, from my 8 year old drummer to my 18 yo pianist you guys are awesome :)
    9. I love that tho I had to say goodbye for now I got to know someone very special.
    10. i love that i am alive and able to move and to think and to dream and that i have today :)

5.I love feeling damn grateful that I make my living doing what I like to do.
6.I love that I refuse to believe stuff without asking questions – a lot of questions.
    7. I like being quite brainy.(finding it easier to say like than love – hope that’s ok!)
8.I like that I talk to strangers – what the hell!
9.I like that I am often quite courageous.
10.I love that I can be very silly sometimes.

Finally going on vegan raw lifestyle, finally embracing my spirituality, finally getting enough sleep(and many other nice things!),so HURRAY to a new beginning of wonderful changes :) :)

Well, this is a bit scary. Totally getting out of my comfort zone. For me it is even a bit uncomfortable to receive compliments from other people and now to think and say what I love about myself, what I love about my body…

    1. I love my desire for adventures
    2. I love my ability to trust people
    3. I love that I am short
    4. I love my body for its ability to sense the rhythm – to express it through dance
    5. I love my need for communication and sharing
    6. I love my eyes
    7. I love my nails
    8. I love the softness of my skin
    9. I love my ability to notice small things in life that can lift me higher ( a smile, a certain way light is reflecting on trees, a touch, a sound, a color ….)
10.I love my need for knowledge

Tera I totally love you for making me realize these simple but at the same time most difficult challenges I face every day in my life – the habit of not appreciating the beautiful in me. And I thank you for showing the direction to the path of change.
Then I saw your email I decided to dedicate myself to writing 10 things I love about myself for the next 30 days. Later I realized I can do it only for 24 days because after that I will be spending 10 days without any internet access. But I can still continue sending positive and loving thoughts to myself and to my body :)

Okay, sooooo thanks to the snow storm, I didn’t have internet access last night. :(

So, I’ll be posting 20 things – 10 for yesterday, and 10 for today!

    1. I love my eyes – they’re dark blue with specks of green in them.
    2. I love that my feet are identical to my mom’s feet.
    3. I love my passion for Japanese culture and language. Growing up, I felt isolated in this passion, as it was uniquely my own, but I never let that damper my enthusiasm.
    4. No matter how different my friends and I are, we always find common ground.
    5. I’m a great listener.
    6. I love my singing.
    7. I love my passion for creativity in the mundane.
    8. I love that I have such a strong relationship with my mom.
    9. I love that I can be “one of the guys” one second, but be incredibly girly the next.
    10. I love that I can appreciate all of the things I been through, and see that they’ve made me stronger.
    11. I love that even though I’m a responsible adult with a long-term boyfriend, a full time job, an apartment and a puppy, I can still get all gothed out for a rock concert.
    12. I love my fashion sense.
    13. I love that I’m confident enough to have black hair one day, and blonde the next.
    14. I love that I’m being an inspirations for my family and friends on this program!
    15. I love that regardless of the abuse I’ve taken at the hands of men, I was still able to fall in love with, and trust my boyfriend.
    16. I love that I can listen to almost any kind of music. My iPod ranges from Phantom of the Opera, to Britney Spears, to Slipknot.
    17. I love my dedication. Once I’ve decided to do something, I don’t stop or give up until it’s done.
    18. I love that I prefer the feel of a book in my hands to having an electronic reader.
    19. I love that I’m a creative writing major, and a sociology minor, despite not yet having a job in my field – I haven’t given up yet!
    20. I love the even on my worst days of self-hatred and disgust, I can always find something redeemable in myself!

Wow. That was harder than I thought. I had to check out what other people wrote to remind me of things I loved about myself. Interesting, because I think that if you had asked to write 10 things I hated about myself, I wouldn’t have had any hesitation. And yet, when asked what I love about myself, I forgot most of those responses until I really thought about it, or used other responses to remind me. So, thank you for helping me remember all of these things!

I love how I can sit in silence for so long and really enjoy it.

I love how I can go from living at the base of Mt. Tam in Northern California to the heart of New York City and appreciate all both have to offer in their unique ways.

I love how I was able to manage my time so well this morning (only for plans to get cancelled – but I still did it, which is great for me.)

I love walking, walking, walking around New York City and all the new things I learn about this beautiful vibrant urban place.

I love how I allowed myself to rest so much yesterday. Storms are good for that!

I love how resourceful I can be with a small amount of space, time & money.

I love traveling solo outside of the country. Every couple years I’ll take a couple weeks and go somewhere that requires a passport by myself. Amazing adventures and new friendships along the way that I’ll have with me forever.

I love looking out the window of my apartment at 4am and watching what’s going on – my city never sleeps.

I love taking care of my animals. All rescue animals I’ve been able to provide a good home to and lots of love. I wonder if they have any idea how much in return I have receive from them. So much unconditional love, joy and fun!

I love being able to share so much with so many strangers here. It feels good to open up. I’ve been in a very negative space for too long and it’s having a great effect on my life.

Imagine all that positive energy balancing out all the contradictions!

In the Baha’i writings, it advises, “Concentrate all the thoughts of your heart on love and unity”. Thoughts of hatred, war, can be opposed by stronger thoughts of love and peace. Be the voice of spirit!

    Here’s my 10 ‘Loveables’:

    1. A roaring courage to do what feel right, no matter how hard it is

    2. A passionate spark that creates, loves and empowers

    3. A healthy conscience that nags and encourages me to strive for excellence

    4. Energy and enthusiasm for Life (capital L!)

    5. A connection to invisible Wisdom – it seems to come to me out of nowhere!

    6. My willingness to pioneer new ideas. Currently, I am joining other families to create a new educational program in our community. Yeah!

    7. My ‘DANCING WAYS’. Whether it’s food, fitness, processing emotions, celebration, soothing a crying babe; “Dance it” is my mantra, my medicine, my teacher.

    8. I can honestly say that I love the way I mother my children. My dedication to self-educate and persevere when the current pushes me in the other direction has given me such integrity!

    9. I am an Early Bird. I love this attribute of myself because morning has so many blessings and possibilities (sunrise, quiet, snuggly time, etc., etc.)

    10. I am a magnet for frisky, empowered, earth-shakin’, awe-inspiring, motivated people

Making this list has fluffed up many of my ruffled feathers. Infinite blessings and encouragement to all who move onto the path of enlightenment!

Day 2. 10 Things i love about myself:

    1) I try to see everyone as being part of me and to realize everyone is doing the best they can, thereby having compassion for everyone.

    2) I raised 2 wonderful daughters who are independent, smart, kind and loving.

    3) I am trying really hard to save my relationship instead of walking away. I realize that I am a factor in everything and so I have things that need work as well as my partner in order for us to have the relationship I dream of.

    4) I try to be honest with people I love about their current situations in a loving way and support them whatever they decide.

    5) I have been able to attract some wonderful, amazing, loving, beautiful friends who are my soul sisters.

    6) Ummm. Here, we go again… I’m stuck.. Ok, I try to take care of my body by eating healthy food and TRYING to maintain and exercise program (really need help there!!!). But I do value my health as being a priority. Not only that but I feel it is the vessel God gave us. Yet, I can’t translate that into an automatic habit. Help!! But I try and give myself credit for that…

    7) I always try to smile at everyone I encounter daily and hope it brightens their day…

    8) I’m doing this today!! I’ve committed to this task and so far so good!!!

    9) I really try to focus on the good in the world..

    10) I am determined to develop a lifestyle that brings out the best in me and allows me to flourish so that I can be an example of what’s possible for others and be totally happy in my own life. At this point in time almost everyone around me is unhappy in their relationships, jobs and in general, Even my own life is falling apart but there is still that glimmer of hope in me that won’t give up. I hope that I can be that light for them. That would be totally amazing!!!!!!!!!! And, at 55, it would be so wonderful to finally be in a place of peace and loving my life…

OK, Day 2 complete.. YEA!!!!!!!!! Have a great one everybody!!!

Day 2 of what I love about myself. I hope that I don’t have to repeat myself in one point during the 30 days. this is a boost in self love by itself.

    What I love about myself
    1. my face is of a type that I can wear any type of earrings and get away as timeless with it (I am not one of those stylish ladies)
    2. being able to declutter my wardrobe fast and furious.
    3. being a morning person
    4. journalling since I was 14 years old
    5. that politeness and friendliness come naturally to me, seldom grumpy, other people just make me enjoy myself
    6. loving to draw even though I always thought I cannot draw
    7. that I seldom feel cold
    8. that I can crochet
    9. that I am a FLYBaby
    10. that I know so many trees and plants and flowers by their name

I am loving this idea – thanks so much for setting it up!

I’ve been working really hard on my self image – and particularly that mean voice inside my head, this is great way to beat it into submission. Thanks!

    so
1 I love that I am full of energy
2 I love that I got out of London and moved to India
3 I love the fact that I am eating pineapple slices for my tea rather than icecream (and I stood in the supermarket for a long time making that decision
4 I love the fact that I have really great friends
5 I love the fact that I can MAKE really great friendships
6 I love the fact that I am moving forwards and putting all the other stuff behind me
7 I love the fact that I will hear bird song as I wake up
8 I love the fact that I always sleep well (despite last nights dream about inadvertently cooking my baby… what on earth was that about? Def time for a raw food diet!)
9 I love the fact that I’m really looking forward to seeing all my chums at work after my time off
10 most of all I love the fact that I am really going to try and make a good relationship with that one irksome person at work. I’m sure I can bring him round if I’m charming enough…

    Thanks Tera

Tera this challenge that you’ve put me upto is not something I will miss because wherever I go , whatever I do this is the one wall I come up with. Sometimes my self hatred is even stunning and I know nothing will shift with such an attitude. So I’m going to take up on this challenge whatever- I don’t care if I don’t win anything because if the only thing I gain is a little softness for myself and a little more kindness then I know that I’ve won and everyone around me has too as I spread positivity, love and good cheer. I will do this for myself for my children and for the world! So grateful I opened this email today.
    1. I love myself for wanting to grow.
    2. I appreciate my sincerity.
    3. I love the way I keep looking for the answers.
    4. I appreciate my intellectual capacities.
    5. I appreciate my creative talents.
    6. I appreciate my steady fingers.
    7. I appreciate my accepting qualities.
    8. I appreciate the hatred that I have for myself that tells me what it is that i want to change.
    9. I appreciate my respect for nature.
    10. I love my appreciation for the connectedness of all things.
Thank you so much Tera for this. You know, when you say it’s not about the money -you’re one person that I can truly believe! Your committment to making the world a better place without necessarily lining anyone’s pockets is so heartwarming and inspiring!

    Day 2 of 30
Ouff…not sure I can get to 10 easily this morning, lol. Monoparental to 3 toddlers makes me way more exhausted than glamourous, but here goes.

    1. When my new lover (and first man in my life since my husband and I split over 2 years ago) e-mailed me this morning that my children are a bit much for him, instead of crying I tried to see things from his point of view and responded as positively as possible.
    2. I see the twins “terrible two’s” as a time of growth and development and I enjoy the challenge, most of the time, lol!
    3. I want the kids to have an appreciation of thier food and where it comes from, so there is never KD in the house, and I try very hard not to succumb to the lure of fast-food as I know they get enough of that with oter people.
    4. I am strong in my convictions, although some would call that pig-headed.
    5. I want to do be the best person I can be.
    6. I try very hard not to be frustrated with my situation as I know there are people in infinately worse situations than what I have to deal with.
    7. I see my children as gifts, precious gifts and I see thier upbringing as a responsibility.
    8. I (most of the time) am a fairly happy person.
    9. I think I’m balanced, mentally, lol!
    10. I truly do enjoy my time with the kids, and don’t see them as a chore, but as the best things to have ever happened to me.

Ok, I did it, it took a bit less time than I thought, maybe I like myself more than I thought I did, that’s a good thing! Have a great day and good luck to us all!

    xo

    Hi Tera,

thanks for giving this opportunity! It took me quite some time today sitting on the bench in the sun to find ten things… so here goes!

    * I love that my body lets me know if I’m holding old beliefs which do me no good – by getting ill.
    * I love that my body has grown and born and fed three children – all on its own. Hooray!
    * I love that I have strong, powerful hands which let me work hard if needed.
    * I love my beautiful strong dark hair, which is curly at half-length and straight if long – and always gorgeous.
    * I love that I never stop searching for new inspiration.
    * I love my strong, sturdy legs which carry me wherever I want to go, either on foot or by bike.
    * I love my body, mind and soul that they go along with me when I try out new (food and other) paths.
    * I love my ability to quickly learn new languages.
    * I love that I am able to, despite being critical of lots of things, be at peace with what is.
    * I love that I am so raw, honest and direct with the people surrounding me.

10 things I love about myself / that are going well:
(Comment from after having done it: “WOW, this is fun!)

The first ten are for Oct 29 (since I am from Germany and your mail reached me at night when I wasn`t on the internet anymore)

    1. I love that I laugh a lot.
    2. I love that I am in a good mood most of the time.
    3. I love that I am exceptionally friendly most of the time.
    4. I love that people notice my being genuinely friendly and that they profit from it mentally.
    5. Yesterday I could help an old lady come more to peace with her husband`s passing away by telling her that he seemed to have had no pain and suffering in his last hour.
    6. I love my knowledge-hunger concerning babies` needs even though I still don`t have any.
    7. I love that I have such a calming effect on our neighbours` baby.
    8. I have had a good influence healthwise on my friend L.
    9. I love my passion and faithfulness for my boyfriend.
    10. I love that I learn more and more how to be a better partner and that I have the WISH to evolve in that concern (not like some people who think there is no need to do so and who are looking for mistakes only in their partner)

The next ten are for today:

    1. I was nice to my fiend Lara today even though I have a pattern of not being nice to her in certain situations.
    2. I love my “natural” nose. It`s small, but not grotesquely small like some noses after plastic surgery, and it has cute little nostrils.
    3. I love the fact that I`ve never did alter my exterior body-appearance artificially since puberty (no plastic surgery with boobs larger or smaller, fat suction, nose-alteration, no tatoos)
    but:
    4. I love the holes in my earlobes (got them at age 14) so I can wear earrings.
    5. I love my face on most days (even more so with earrings.
    6. I love the laughing wrinkles next to my eyes even though I am only 28.
    7. I love that I otherwise look younger than I am.
    8. I love the form of my hands.
    9. I mostly love the form, structure and surface of my “all natural” finger nails (I only cut them about once a week and that`s it).
    10. I love that I am a good runner.

    3. I love that despite my broken ankle I was able to make a breakfast of fresh fruit while my boyfriend walked our 3 furry kids this morning.
    4. I love my feet. They are quite perfect, even with a broken ankle. Time for a pedicure. :)

Dear Tera and all you wonderful women out there posting beautiful things! I am on a “love myself to the max” mission, and this assignment comes at the perfect timing! I have just been to a retreat in the mountains of Barcelona, where I connected so deeply with the Divine in me that I am blown away by the true beauty of who we really are. I have been sick for some years now and have tried sooo many things “to make it go away” … Including raw foods, green juices and all that jazz, but nothing made a real difference. And I saw that it was because I was doing it from a place of shame and selfhatred about who I thought I was. What I didn’t like about myself has been the star of my show – oh so subtly – for way to long now. What is now crystal clear to me is that the only thing that heals all the twisted darkness is my loving attention to it! It is so simple, yet is has taken me 31 years to understand this…. So here comes my list:

1: I love myself for the courage to come here and really MEET myself in both my glory and my misunderstandings.

    2.  I love the readiness in me to open up to all those parts of myself that I have shut down, and then sticking with them untill my love made them open and colourful again.

    3. I love my ability to channel divine energies and my newfound courage to own up to the not-so-divine ones without judgement.

    2. I love the fact that I car enough about my father to try and in form him of the choice of going glutten free ,even though this will mean alot more work for me.
3I love that even thouhg I was busy with this ,when I heard one of my dogscrying I sdashed off to see if she was ok..( she was the Deerhound had stood on the labradors tail !)
    4. I love that even thouhg I am vegan and an easily turned stomach I still cook meat for my parents.
5.I love that even thouhg I was busy I went and helped dad wash the cars because I knew he was tired and needed cheering up.
6.I love thatI am an information junkie!
7.I love that a few years ago due to muscle wastage from illness I could not lift even a bake bean can and now I ca do one legged press ups and swing kettlebells
    8. I love that I am couragous enough to ignore the doctors not let them medicate me and fight them when they tried to tell me I had an illness I knew I did not have!(And proved with later medical test I did not.)
9.I love that I sew and knit
    10. I love my naturally long nails ..whooo I finally said something nice about my body—result !

I just read this today and love, Love, LOVE what I am hearing! Thank you ladies and here it goes…I love this excersize cause I’m in need of some self-love!

The 10 things I Love about ME today.

1-I love that I work with new moms and their sweet babies…some days it is emotionally staining but who can’t call the sweet smell of a newborn or recently born baby a blessing and that warmth that overwhelms your chest when they snuggle up in your neck a gift. I love that I have a sense of smell and a heart that can appreciate these gifts.

2-I love that when I woke up this morning I felt stiff…I ran a half marathon yesterday with my iron man of a husband and I feel like it is a gift to have this body and to have been able to enjoy the company of such a special man yesterday.

3=I love that I have learned a great truth from my soul mate and that I have this day to continue to learn it…I am happy.

4-I love that I look for the good in people and try to remind them of it.

5-I love that I love opera and can sing it with great feeling.

6-I love that I love to read and the world that has opened up to me because of it.

7-I love that I can cry.

8-I love that I am a mother and though it doesn’t always happen, I am also trying to overcome generations of habit and parent their souls, not mine.

9-I love that I speak spanish…at on time I was crazy (or sane) enough to marry a sexy latin man who is patient enough to tutor this guerra, guerra in the language of love.

10-I love that I am taking on this challenge.

Thank you Tera, for this reminder of the blessings I have been given.

    3. I love that I stay patient, and I keep answering my 5 year old daughter while I try to write this.

    4. I love that (I’m really finding this difficult today), I’m no longer obsessed by food(it made me completely dysfunctional for many precious years of my life).

    5. I love that I see a bit more clearly when I’m acting in a way to sabotage myself. First step, right?

    6. I love that I love nature.

    7. I love that my daughter tells me that I’m the most beautiful mother :-) .

    8. I love that I felt the sunshine warming my face today and that I received good vitamin D.

    9. I love that I can always have hope.

i love that you said you love your procrastination… i think maybe i will love mine too! sometimes i do think it serves me b/c i take a break from all the obvious shoulds, and do some dreamy things, and go to the heart of what i really want to do, and then and it helps me to feel my direction in the big picture…. that is my story, anyway, and i’m sticking to it! but even if that isn’t so all the time, it is good to just feel that love. thx for that.

Day 2: shorter, and still sweet.
    1) I love that my husband and I had the courage to embark on the risky business of buying and running an organic farm.
    2) I love that I appreciate my husband every day, and that I laugh with complete abandon at all his silly and wonderful antics — he is my humor hero!
    3) I love that I send health ideas to my friends and family, and that they actually listen!
    4) I love that I let myself take a day to spend reading (after the berry farm closed!) (I was reading Joel Fuhrman’s “Eat to Live”, actually!) and that I have managed to be OK with that, even though I do have a big old “to-do” list, like everyone else I would suppose!
    5) I love that I try to make my suggestions to folks meet them where they are at, not where some objective idea would say they should be.
    6) I love that I love our home… it is sweet, small, cozy, not fancy, a bit messy right now, but full of great energy and color and happiness.
    7) I love that I remain a devotee of my Teacher, even when I am so far from what I “think” a devotee should be.
    8) I love that I remember, almost every single day, a message that came to me via my Teacher, in a dream, about 15 years ago: “It’s about Feeling, it’s not about perfection”.
    9) I love that I actually am gaining some wisdom as I get older!
    10) I love that I know what detoxing feels like, and that I’m willing to go through it when the time comes, b/c I know that I will feel so good when on the other side of it.

    1) I love that today is Sunday and we can rest from most of our labors.
    2) I love that I got up early and read my scriptures.
    3) I love that the messages in Church today were very inspiring.
    4) I love that I got lots of hugs in Church today.
    5) I love that I got to see many friends today.
    6) I love that my step daughter was able to spend the weekend with us.
    7) I love that last night I had a date with my sweetheart to dinner and a movie.
    8) I love that we have heat in our home. (Sorry for all those on the East coast that are undergoing challenges.
    9) I love that I texted our youngest son to wish him a “Happy Day.”
    10) I love that my mother taught us to have so many traditions.
(We celebrate “Happy Days–the day you were born, but we celebrate it each month. We have a special plate to eat on, you don’t have to do the dishes on your happy day or make your bed and mom always fixed your favorite foods. Even though I am in my 60′s my mother still calls me every 13th–which is my Happy Day.

Day 2 and I was about to head to bed, when I remembered that I want to start doing this exercise daily. This is a healthy habit that I’d like to make a part of every day.

10 Things I Like about Me on Oct 30th:
    1. I love that I when a friend gave me the gift of a homemade sweet potato pie today, I was able to tell her that I am staying away from processed flours. She wasn’t hurt and I survived saying no!

    2. I like my curly hair.

    3. I love that I chose to make myself a salad for dinner – romaine with tomatoes and strawberries. mmmmmm

    4. I like that I am creative. Had the idea to make a little book of salad and dressing recipes as Christmas presents for family and friends this year. I’m excited!

    5. I had a quart of green juice for breakfast this morning and another for lunch. Yes!!

    6. I am thrilled with myself for remembering to come and post this list today.

    7. I am grateful that I am committed to taking care of my emotions. There was the possibility of an emergency situation at work this morning, but before I went to see what the problem was, I stopped, closed my eyes and said a prayer. After I was centered, I went and the “problem” was gone. Ha!

    8. I am a good cook. One of my daughters asked today if I would make the hummus that I made a long time ago because she enjoyed it so much.

    9. I am a good friend. I went to visit a friend in the hospital today and the time we spent cheered her up (and encouraged me too!).

    10. I have decided to love myself by getting a good night’s sleep and go to bed ON TIME instead of staying up and hanging with the family. They are all watching a football game and if I stayed up with them, it would blow my morning plans.

    Good night!

Looks like I missed day 1, but I’ll gladly participate!
Ten things I like about me:
    1. My eyes. I used to think brown eyes were “boring,” and wished I had green eyes, or hazel, or blue – anything more “interesting” than brown. But over the years, various friends and lovers have complimented me on my eyes, and I recently realized that yes, I do think they are beautiful too!
    2. My intelligence. I am a smart woman!
    3. My warmth.
    4. My creativity!
    5. My dedication to giving/charity/volunteering. I believe in giving as much as I can to others – even though this means I don’t have as much “spending money” or time as I’d like.
    6. My hair is long and beautiful.
    7. My feet, legs, ankles, arms, and really my whole body because I love being able to dance. I am so grateful to be healthy and fit enough to dance even a little.
    8. My sense of integrity.
    9. My work ethic.
    10. My knowledge of helpful healing herbs and natural remedies. :) I may not know as much as experts, but I am glad to be a resource to my friends and to be able to heal myself of minor ailments!
