Simple Exercise Tips You Can Do In Between Unwrapping Presents

When Christmas morning hits and you’re excited about all the fun activities you have planned for the day, likely the last thing on your mind will be getting in a formal workout session.
And, taking the day off on this special holiday is typically a good idea for most people as you want to have time to rest and enjoy some time with your loved ones.
This doesn’t mean you have to forgo all forms of physical activity however. You can still perform a series of exercises that will work great for shaping up your body, firming your muscles, and burning fat quickly.
Let’s go over a few of the simple exercise tips that you can do between unwrapping presents when you have a second, I know I’ll be incorporating them.
The first exercise to consider is a glute raise. Simply plant your feet down on the ground, hands by your side and then press straight upwards to elevate the hips off the floor.
Hold this position for 5-10 seconds and then lower back down again to complete the rep.
Glute raises are a perfect way to shape up your backside and build strength in your hamstrings as well.
Make it fun, create a competition for yourself. Do 10 sets of glute raises for every slice of figgy pudding you eat.
Next up we have chair dips. These are also fast and easy to do between drinking your vegan egg nog, and will target the muscles on the back of the arm perfectly.
Simply place your palms on the edge of the couch or chair and with the feet firmly on the floor beneath you, lower yourself down by bending at the elbows.
Once the elbows are at a ninety degree angle, pause, and then press back up again until the elbows are fully extended.
You can sneak this in without drawing much attention to yourself, perfect for when the kids are tearing the presents apart with their teeth.
Moving along, to target that core, you have V-sit holds. This one is very easy to do, but will definitely put your core strength to the test.
To perform it, lift the upper and lower body up at the same time so that you’re in a ‘V’ shape formation. Hold this for 15-20 seconds – or however long you can hold it and then begin to lower yourself back down again.
Complete two to three reps total, making sure to keep your breathing steady and regular throughout.
If you’re family watches a special movie during the holidays, like Its A Wonderful Life, skip the coach, sit on the floor, and try some V-Sit Holds.
Finally, last but not least, we have calf raises, these are my favorite. If you’re in charge of delivering gifts, do these while you’re standing and watching others unwrap.
Raise all the way up until you’re on your very tippy toes and then lower back down again. If you want an added challenge, do this one one leg, putting your full body weight on just that single calf muscle.
If you can include all of these moves on Christmas day as you unwrap your presents, you can go on with your holiday knowing that you still did something positive for your body and didn’t skip a beat with your workout plan.
Good health doesn’t take a break for the holidays, neither should you!
