Although perfect for the 4th of July, this fresh red-white-and-blue fruit salad recipe makes a tasty and refreshing treat for any hot summer’s day!

Enjoy with the blended red banana or plantain cream, as suggested in the recipe below.

  • Raw Food Recipe: Red-White-and-Blue Fruit Salad1⁄2 pint blueberries
    (and/or blackberries)
  • 2 1⁄2 pints strawberries
    (and/or raspberries)
  • 2 bananas, not too ripe
  • 1 very ripe red banana
    (or 1⁄2 small plantain),
    very ripe
Rinse strawberries and blueberries.

De-stem and cut strawberries in halves or thirds.

Cut yellow bananas in 1⁄2-inch pieces, and toss together with the other fruit.

Blend the red bananas or 1⁄2 plantain in blender, adding a shot of water if necessary to blend and make a cream.

Remove cream from blender and place in a bowl, and gently fold in and stir the strawberry and banana slices with the blueberries into the blended cream.

Serve and enjoy!

p.s. For something a little more rich, try making the coconut cream from this Red, White, Blue & Yummy recipe!

…Happy 4th of July!
