Raw Food Recipe: Cranberry Avocado Salsa and Other Winter Fruits to Enjoy

Winter fruits: Cranberries

There are some amazing winter fruits that can be enjoyed in the colder months: cranberries, oranges, pears and pomegranates!

Enjoy the health benefits of cranberries with this superb recipe for Cranberry Avocado Salsa!

Cranberries are known for fighting urinary tract infections, cranberries are abundant in the winter and a great source of vitamins.

Try juicing cranberries and apples together for a super drink that can’t be compared to store-bought, sugar-laden cran-apple juice!

Better yet, try this Cranberry Avocado salsa recipe.

Raw Food Recipe: Cranberry Avocado Salsa

Adapted from a Martha Stewart recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 minced jalapeño (optional)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 2 ripe avocados, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup halved cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (coriander), chopped
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • 1-2 T Hemp seeds
  • In a large bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 minced jalapeño (seeds removed for less heat, if desired), and 1/4 cup chopped red onion.

    Add 2 ripe avocados, cut into 1/4-inch pieces, 3/4 cup halved cranberries, drained well on paper towels, and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro. Season with coarse salt and ground pepper; toss gently to combine.

    ENJOY!!

    Cut up a pear and dip the slices in low temperature melted raw chocolate. Enough said :)

    Winter fruits: pomegranateSprinkle your salads with these crimson jewels, add them to your raw cheesecakes, throw them in the blender alongside other fruits for a tasty smoothie, or eat the seeds by themselves instead of popcorn while you watch a movie all bundled up in your warm home.
