Raw Food Article On the Front Page of the St. Paul Pioneer Press

Posted Oct 21 2008 12:43am

St. Paul Minnesota has just gotten a little more hip.

Today'sPioneer Pressis featuring a front page article on raw food.

The tagline reads:"With a cookbook, a restaurant, and their own co-op community, raw food devotees nourish a trend."

It's a straight forward positive piece that includes general information on raw food, as well as some information on the Wisconsin raw food community, including the Menomonie raw deli called The Raw Deal.

You can read the full article here.

Although I enjoyed the article, I am disappointed it does not mention anything relating to the thriving Twin Cities metro raw community - that article is focused on the raw community in our sister state of Wisconsin. Which is all fine and good, but it would have been nice if they mentioned at least something that's happening in Minnesota that's raw, like our awesome raw food restaurant Ecopolitan, or the many raw food potlucks around the Twin Cities.

Perhaps next time they'll talk about all the cool stuff happening in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and all the awesome suburbs like Burnsville, which is having a raw holiday class in a few weeks at the local co-op Valley Natural Foods.

From the article: a photo from a recent Wisconsin raw food potluck.

This is a good time to mention that Justin and I are assembling a resource list for the Twin Cities Raw Food Community called " Raw in the Twin Cities". This short and simple guide will include where to find raw food produce and other raw ingredients, where to take classes on raw food in the metro area, a listing of raw friendly health practitioners, as well as a potluck guide. If you know of something that relates to raw food in the Twin Cities metro area (or elsewhere in Minnesota), please contact us using our email form, or email us at rawfoodrightnow {at} gmail.com.

We will post more info on the blog when Raw in the Twin Cities is ready!
