I’ve recently begun to make my own beauty products at home. Since I set the intention to get off the chemically-laden store-bought beauty wagon, I’ve been at a loss as to what to use. I’ve been using coconut oil for EVERYTHING, but I find that for some things it just doesn’t provide what I need. For instance, while I love coconut oil on my face, I find it doesn’t do the same thing for my hands. It leaves my hands still feeling dry and chapped.
So, I’ve been on the hunt for ideas, and there are a lot of them! I’m sharing with you three that are quickly becoming my favorites.
1 large peach or nectarine, skinned
3 teaspoons honey
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
Mix peach and honey together mix into a paste.
Smooth evenly over your face and neck and around the eyes.
Leave on for 10-15 minutes.
Rinse off with warm water
Moisturize as normal

1/4 cup coconut oil
1/8 cup shea butter
1/8 cup cocoa butter
1 Tbsp aloe vera juice
1 Tbsp liquid oil of choice (jojoba, apricot kernal, etc)
5-10 drops essential oils (your EO of choice)
Heat the shea butter, coconut oil, and cocoa butter in a double boiler over low heat till melted. Stir constantly.
Remove from heat and add the aloe vera juice, liquid oil, and essential oils and stir to combine well.
Pour into a container of your choice and allow to cool.
This makes enough to go into a small sized canning jar.
I’ve tried a few hand cream recipes, but I love this one because it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling.
