Contrary to plans I have been hit by the blogging bug again. It first swept over me when I glanced lovingly at my newly repaired vitamix - it has been terrifying neighbours and friends alike with the sheer volume of its noise but it was only when it started to leak the entire contents of the smoothie in progress and the bearing balls fell out that I finally prioritised part replacement. It turned out it only needed new blades - which was half the cost I had imagined and they were with me in a couple of days. So hooray to the Vitamix corporation, whatever they say about them and who would have thought, seven years after I purchased it (Vitamix corporation informed me of the date of purchase when I gave them the serial number - how clever) the dear machine is going stronger than ever and I so appreciated a really smooth fluffy chocolate pudding for breakfast. And it’s so much quieter - it turned out that the blades had been loose all this time. I tried to resist blogging this then I felt I had to talk about ‘The Little White Horse’ by Elizabeth Goudge which the children and I agree is the best work of fiction we have ever read. Since reading it I have not been able to fail noticing those little white horses that come galloping in from the sea every morning. I could say the book is magical but there is no way of conveying what it does to your state of mind when you read it. Another tale of paradise restoration what’s more set in spring in the West Country and the imagery is incredible.
