Don't Put Anyone On A Pedestal

I recall when I first started on this raw food vegan journey, that I had a few mentors. You can say I put these people on a pedestal.  Silly me!  I thought every word they said was the truth, applicable to everyone, but today, that way of thinking has changed.

When we are starting something new and we are not very knowledgeable about it, we seek out those who have the knowledge and the experience.  That is how most of us expand our horizons.  Some of us, myself included, will think these people have all the answers, but little do we know they are only human.  When they fall, we become upset with them, but that should never be the case.  We are all human and we make mistakes.

Today, there are many people that I consider to be my mentors. There are those of you who have succeeded in being healthy successful raw vegans, awesome writers, thinkers, inventors, creators, motivators and much much more.  As I write this, I am thinking of all the internet buddies that I have learned from in such a short time.  No book or guru could have taught me the things that I have learned from you.  You guys are the true books and gurus from which I learn.

Have you been guilty of putting anyone on a pedestal only to be let down?  Speak on it!  :)
