Bliss... complete and total bliss!

Posted May 22 2009 11:44pm

I have had a day filled with 'situations' - any one of them could have turned my day into a 'bad day' but instead... I had the best day! I was so relaxed, so 'in the moment'... I allowed myself to follow my breath and smile. When something happened which could have created stress, I simply followed my breath (Breathing In, I know that I am breathing in... Breathing Out, I know that I am breathing out ~ Thich Nhat Hanh) and waited for me to return to my centre and then... I would speak.

I made sure my speech was mindful and right. Do you remember when I discussed right speech with you all before? If not, here's a link to that post ( here ).

Spending the day simply allowing myself to be - existing totally within the moment and not allowing anger, worry or stress to enter my mind was so... well... blissful!

Tonight was my silent meditation group. We sat together in deep meditation while the dogs chewed on bones, started barking, my hubby and daughter both opened and closed doors many times while we sat and it didn't bother us at all. We are simply allowing the moment to be what it was... and stay within... we were not the meditator, we were outside of that.

I am in total bliss... blissed out to the max. I love days like this.

I was explaining to my friend that for me fasting is like meditation. When we miss a day of meditation we feel it. We notice our days events bothering us in ways that they do not when we do sit in meditation that day. I told her that's what fasting is for me. Eating is a day without meditation and fasting is a day with meditation. She said that now she understands why I love to fast.

What a truly great day.

Bliss out baby... bliss out!
