Be Forewarned: A Sneak Peek at My New Book — Slurp! The Nutritional Revolution That Fits in a Straw

by Tera Warner

Through my various collaborations with other fabulous people, I’ve published a lot of programs, e-books and menu planners over the years. It’s been so much fun and personally rewarding.

But, since I’ve been so busy with the “TO DOs” around here, I’ve never managed to sit down to finish writing MY book — Slurp! The Nutritional Revolution That Fits in a Straw.

Summer is here and the breeze on my cheeks seems to tell me it’s time. My time.

So, I thought I might be able to use your help in making it finally happen.

I wanted to pass along the first couple pages and see what you think!

If you like it, then every week I’ll try and send you a new chapter or excerpt.  As we go, I’ll ask for feedback, and anyone whose suggestions I use, I’ll definitely pass along a copy of the book when it’s done. (I’m challenging myself to finish it before my 37th birthday on August 28th.)

I’d love to know your thoughts on how to help make this book a sassy contribution to the world of healthy living!

I think if the world knew health and well-being could be achieved simply, they’d dump the diet book for an apple and get on with other joys of living!I’ve been approached by a few different publishing companies to write a book about green smoothies.  But I turned them all down. The titles bored me and the content suggestions put me to sleep.

Apparently, the world wants another “diet” book loaded with scientific posturing about the nutritional properties of fruits and vegetables.

I think the world just wants to feel good again! But so many get stuck in a rut of quick fix solutions, white coat recommendations, and protein powder promises.

I think if the world knew health and well-being could be achieved simply, they’d dump the diet book for an apple and get on with other joys of living!

So that’s why I’m writing this book, and here’s how it starts…

Most books start with a foreword, but I took a slightly different approach:

Here we are.

You’ve got another health and wellness book perched at the end of your nose, and I’ve got something to say.

I felt it appropriate that you be forewarned about the content in the coming pages, just so we have no false hopes or unmet expectations between us when it’s all read and done. This book is not like other books.

If you’re hoping this book will finally hold the secret to unlocking your energy, health, and youthful glow…

…it won’t.

This book will not make you lose weight, feel great, or look even a week younger.

There is no nutritional jargon laced among its pages to convince you of my cleverness and give the book an air of academic authority.

It may, however, empower you to do these things yourself. It will remind you of what you already knew before television commercials, magazine ads, nutritional pyramids, and well-ironed white coats told you what to eat and how to think about your food and your health.

The words in the pages of this book are simple, but do not believe them.
The ideas are common sense, but do not accept them blindly as your truth.

In the face of complicated contradictions, mixed messages and a plethora of scientifically supported articles proving polar opposite nutritional truths, the only way to establish the “truth” about food is to find out what’s true for you.

I should also let you know that this book suffers from a severe allergy to shelves and cardboard boxes.

Leave it on coffee tables, counter tops, and on nightstands. Leave it at the dentist’s office and accidentally forget a copy at your parents’ house. Put it on a shelf and it will lose the very purpose for which it was created–to be an active inspiration to all those who dare to think for themselves.

So? Tell me… Whatdya think?

Do you like it? Would you like to read the first chapter? :-)

Love and mystery,

    Hi Tera,

I L O V E your forwarned. And I am sure your book will be fabulous. I think it’s great to get people to think again for themselves and not lay it all out for them. It is time people learn to make choices for themselves again and TRUST those and their intuition. If it feels right then just go ahead and DO it….

This will be an absolute amazing book, I am sure of it!

    Love and light,
    Kerstin

I have never experienced a forward quite like this one and love the sassy presentation and honesty. You are right on, the only good book is the book not on the shelf or in a box. I can’t wait for the next chapter.

This looks great to me. I admire your work. As per comment; “I believe this is why God let someone invent a straw, to save us from our excuses to not eat the plant foods He instructed us to fuel our bodies with in Genesis 1:29″.

I would read your book for sure. Your no-nonsense straight forward way of writing and speaking to your reader will be your selling point. We need someone to smack us in the face with the fact that we know how to do it and what to eat to make our life more healthy, we just make excuses. Let me know when copies are coming out, I will be sure to purchase one! Best of Luck!

Tera , Your new book: The Nutritional Revolution, Sounds Amazing! Your communication skills just show your love, honesty, and your beauty just shines in your words. The truth and no nonsense approach in the ‘Forewarned’ (great title and very appropriate :) is undeniably amazing. Your ability to put things in writing that are heartfelt, caring, uplifting and that truly feel like you are speaking directly to me, personally, is a tremendous gift. This book promises to be a complete best seller. Your approach is so…well… Tera. And no one can compare. Who ever helps you, I don’t want to leave them out of course…they are amazing too. And I agree with Kerstin. We (I) need to take responsibility for my own choices and do the next right thing, even if ‘Acting As If’ or ‘Fake it til you Make it’ is how I begin… the heart will eventually reach the head!! Go Forth and prosper TERA!!! You are in your element and God Bless!
