Hey there, beauty!!!

I’ll admit that I’m not much of a fan of the shopping and Christmas fever, but knowing that the new year is coming gets me SO excited.

It’s like a whole new beginning – a fresh start, a clean slate and a chance to press my spiritual reset button and create new targets and objectives for the year to come.

Join me in setting intentions for the 2012, and I’ll give you a copy of our new smoothie e-book!

New Year's Resolutions and Setting Intentions.Sometimes I’ve snuggled up with a special book and a loved one to write out my intentions and make it a bit of a special ritual, but this year I thought I’d invite you to join me in a 12-day countdown to 2012!

I sat down and came up with what I think are the 12 main areas of life I’d like to reflect on and set intentions for in 2012. Every day I’ll come on the blog and post a few thoughts about this area. Maybe I’ll take a moment to reflect on what went right in 2011, what’s worth celebrating – then I’ll set my intentions for the new year, and come back to see how I’m progressing throughout the year.

  • Spirituality, Wisdom & Learning
  • Money & Abundance
  • Career and Business
  • Love and RelationshipsSex and Sensuality
  • Sex and Sensuality
  • Creativity & Play
  • Attitude and Outlook on Life
  • Clutter and Personal Organization
  • Beauty and Personal Care
  • FoodFood, Health and Fitness.
  • Fitness
  • Health
  • So, over the next 12 days, I’m going to post on the blog and we can come together and share our intentions with each other.

They say there is power in numbers, so why not shout it out to the tens of thousands of people reading this blog every week and then see how much pom-pom power we can put behind our intentions!!

IF you decide to join me and set your intentions for all 12 areas of life, then I’ll congratulate you with a new copy of our soon to be released e-book, “Smooth Food”. It’s loaded with satisfying meals for health-seekers on the move, and all the recipes have been teenager and husband approved!!

Of course, this little gift is just a playful motivation. The real gift will come in having set your intentions in the first place. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in 2011, it’s that INTENTION IS SENIOR TO EFFORT. Simply by setting your intentions for different areas of your life, you can make amazing things happen!

So, if you’re on board, join me!

The first area I’ll be reviewing and setting intentions for is the area of Spirituality, Wisdom and Learning.Spirituality, Wisdom and Learning.

I’ve learned so much by interviewing incredible people over the last year. WISH Summit 2011 was inspiring and I’m so excited about what’s happening for 2012! I made amazing connections to incredible people and did some independent study, but this year I’m taking it higher.

What efforts will you make to look deeper into yourself?

What wisdom of the universe do you want to penetrate?

Set your targets for the area of Wisdom, Spirituality and Learning and let me know what they are in the blog comments below!!

    Love and limitlessness for 2012!!

    Tera

My intention is to invest myself more fully into my spiritual pursuits–to complete the course I’m on currently and be studying full time the communication tools and skills I most want to learn. My primary purpose in life is to be studying and learning about Life, communication, myself and what I need to know to make the world a better place. I really want to see this area take a big leap forward for me in 2012. So I’m studying MORE, not just applying what I know.

These may sound like silly goals for wisdom and learning, but I am very sincere about them.

I set my intention to accomplish learning in the three areas:

Harmonica. I have a very good harmonica, and a cd set to teach me how to play. I will learn to play some songs.

Hula Hooping. I will become a certified Hoopnotica instructor. This will also support my fun, fitness and monetary intentions.

      - To hone in my intuition on who and what to spend my time, energy and money on
      - To release the feeling of inadequacy and shame, and to live every moment feeling powerful and loved.

My Spirituality intentions for 2012 are to integrate practices for total wellness (not just learn about them). Specifically some things that fit into spiritual wellness for me include:
      –daily prayer walks
–daily short meditation and prayer times with my husband
–weekly “retreats” of at least an hour of meditation and movement (similar to restorative yoga)
–weekly community conversations just because (because being in community is more important than deadlines sometimes)

I’ve already started by cleaning up the address book, blocking some from my facebook account and throw a blind-eye to some co-workers. In 2012 I want to focus on getting more into the business of wellness, beginning my blog, which I’ve been thinking about for over a year, and taking some courses on health education (the raw kind).
Spiritually I need to work on just asking God to lead me and really just following him. I spend entirely too much time worrying on my own and then realizing after hours or days that God has my answers and worrying is worthless.

My intention is to pay attention to my emotions and be more mindful of these feelings instead of stuffing them down with food, shopping, etc. My intention is to focus more on the many things that bring me joy and surround myself with more positive people and places. When I am around negative people I will try to be more forgiving and less angry. I set my intention to keep on laughing and finding things to laugh at….

For 2012 my focus will be on spirituality and learning. I need to learn to stay in God’s time and not in my time. When I do what I want to do, things don’t turn out well. But when I listen to God’s voice and follow him, things are much better and I am much happier!
Spirituality – I have found a church home and am praying daily that God leads me to a new job if it is his will that I work while in school.
Learning – I just completed my first class on the path to getting my Master’s degree. Classes start up again January 12th and I look forward to the 6 classes that I will complete this year.

I, too, enjoy the process of reflecting on the past year and am excited to start fresh in the new year. I know that to deepen my spirituality and walk the wisdom path, I need to have a consistent, daily PRACTICE. For me, my practice is tai chi and spending quiet time in nature. My intention for 2012 is to make my practice a daily affair… like eating, I need to feed myself spiritually or I fall into forgetfulness and operate in a perpetual “doing” mode… being is just as important :)

      Day 12:
Set Your Intentions for Spirituality, Wisdom & Learning!
What efforts will you make to look deeper into yourself? Find a new church where I can become useful again. Less Facebook, more reading and studying.
What wisdom of the universe do you want to penetrate? I want to get closer to God – studying the Bible more and taking more classes.

Set your targets for the area of Wisdom, Spirituality and Learning and let me know what they are in the blog comments below!! Wisdom and learning: Today is 12/21 and I have read 41 books this year. I want to read 52 next year. Spirituality: I want to get closer to God (see above).

I intend to read the Bible cover to cover. I have learned a very unfortunate lesson in relationships very recently and how important it is to feed, grow, preserve and appreciate them. The most important relationship that I can cultivate is that with God, so instead of always reading my favourite/go-to/easy scriptures I really want to absorb the breadth of the Word. That is my intention for Wisdom, Spirituality and Learning for 2012 …. oh and to apply for my Master’s …
