12-Day Countdown to 2012 – Day 1: Set Your Intentions for Health

Posted Dec 31 2011 10:00am

We kinda saved the most general category for last.

Health.

That’s a big topic. It’s really clear having gone through the other 11 areas of life before this one, that they all factor into the equation of your “health”.

You’re going to have to address your relationships, your career fulfillment, your spiritual goals, prosperity, food, fitness and attitude toward life in order to consider your general health intentions and objectives.

This year the big thing I did for myself and my health was to finally address the tumor that had been growing on the back of my thigh, and to go for a complete physical.

Go For A Complete Physical Check-UpIt felt so good to get all my bits and pieces checked out and to know that it’s all going okay “down there”. My decision to do that was very heavily inspired by our “Panty Party” call with Alisa Vitti.

Having had a complete physical with blood work, I realized that I could use a bit more iron and a bit more B12, but generally speaking, it’s all good! Having removed the lump on the back of my leg, I felt so liberated from something that was constantly taking my attention.

I wrote quite a bit about how this situation affected me and if you’d like to catch that post, you can find it here.

Set Your Intentions for Health in 2012!What intentions can you set for yourself in 2012?

What actions can you take to increase your general health and well-being? What, for you, is going to take your health to the next level?

Set your intentions, declare them to the whole wide world by posting them in the comments below! Be specific and let’s see what happens!

May 2012 knock your socks off and bring you the health, energy and well-being you so deserve!

Love and boundless energy,

Tera

Actually getting a physical and blood work and scheduling an ob gyn appointment is excellent advice. It’s been years since I’ve been to a doctor for fear of what I mind out and sheer laziness. I will make it a priority to take care of health.

I am already taking good care of my physical health, improving my eating habits and doing more exercise will only improve it.

It is more my spiritual health that I will work on, rebuilding my self-esteem is my goal for 2012.

    Happy New Year every one!

My intention for 2012 is to deepen the commitment I made in 2011 to love myself deeply and fully. It all starts with full mind, body and spirit wellness and getting clear by listening to what my body needs. I will continue to journal, meditate, exercise, eat more raw, clean food and to step up the play time by being more spontaneous and go dancing and to the beach.

My intention for 2012 is to follow Tera’s lead and address what is underneath the surface and nagging for my attention. Instead of letting it rob me of my full presence, supressing my best I can and want to be and keep me from fully expressing my love, joy and peace, I choose to address my “metabolic syndrome.” I tune in and listen to my body, what it is telling me, not complaining about “it” gaining weight, or “it” not doing this or “it” doing that. My first step is here with my commitment to the 21 day Green Smoothie Challenge. Next step is my follow through on the additional intentions I set on the 11-days to 2012. I plan to read them everyday, happily checking them off as I go. I’m breaking them down into action steps today. Thank you Tera & The Team for helping me to reflect and organize to make 2012 the best ever! You Divas Rawk!

After the blood work at my annual check up this past summer, my doctor told me to take fish oil every day to try to bring my cholesterol down and then come back in in 6 months. She told me the same thing seven or eight years ago and I never did it. I took my fish oil and have since switched over to flax oil – that, plus the changes I’m already making, I’m actually looking forward to going back and finding out how great I’m doing! It feels like so much that I’m intending to do from these 12 days of intentions, but in a way, they all directly relate and are just about making little changes each and every day!! Here’s to all of us accomplishing our goals this year! :)

Going for bloodwork in January and then will again in June to see the results of my diet and fitness goals. In general I want a more regular schedule, more energy and just an overall sense of peace that my body is doing what it needs to without being overloaded. It is a magnificent piece of art and it is meant to work just the way it was designed, we only have to let it. Health is possible, but it can’t be left to chance. People aren’t ‘luck’, they work hard and take it seriously.

My goal is to continue to remove the toxins from my body that have built up over the years of not living with intention. With movement and healthy eating, along with my spiritual growth, 2012 will be about cleansing myself of the past and growing in line for success in the future! Toward the end of the year I will do the full medical checkups including eyes, a physical, and a complete intimate exams. Overall I am restoring my grace and health to it’s rightful place! Have a great New Year all!

I AM IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING MY OWN RECIPE TOOLBOX BY GETTING HEALTHY, MOSTLY QUICK RAW RECIPES TOGETHER; ORGANIZED IN NOTEBOOKS FOR SMOOTHIES, SALADS, ETC. MY NEXT STEP IS TO DISCIPLINE MYSELF TO MAKE WEEKLY MENUS AND SHOPPING LISTS ACCORDINGLY. ALSO, MAKE AHEAD DISHES, SMOOTHIES, ETC., SO THERE ARE NO EXCUSES TO NOT EAT HEALTHY. MY OVERALL HEALTH WILL IMPROVE, AS I DEVELOP A SERIES OF VARIED HEALTHY RECIPES & MEALS THAT I LIKE TO MAKE & EAT ON A REGULAR BASIS. AS I KEEP ADDING THE NUTRIENT RICH, RAW FOOD INTO MY DIET, THE DESIRE FOR POOR QUALITY FOOD WILL JUST BE A THING OF THE PAST.

In 2012, I want to put a LOT of attention to my mental health. For years I’ve been struggling with anxiety, panic attacks and downright feelings roller coaster. I came to conclusion that all this mess is created by self sabotage, coming from different areas of my life.
But then, something obvious hit me and, although I realized this before, I now really understand and assimilated it through each and every one of my cells : I AM THE ONLY ACTOR OF MY LIFE AND ONLY ME CAN CHANGE THE WAY MY LIFE IS. If something does or doesn’t happen, I am the one who’s responsible for it. If a dream come or not to life, it is only up to me. If I feel grounded, clear minded and confident… it is once again my responsibility!! So what path will I take this new year? THE POSITIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE, BOLD, FULL OF LIFE, FULL OF DREAMS, CONFIDENT, HEALTHY AND GLOWING ONE!!!!!!!!! :) Happy new year to everybody, love and harmony all life long…

I have been looking for a new doctor, that is open to conventional, non-conventional and a holistic approach to health care! I will do research in the first 30 days of the year, to allow me to find that doctor. Additionally, I will get my yearly physical with blood work completed along with my mammogram and pap smear, both equally important to my physical and emotional health. I will work on a family life balance along with setting time for my own sanity! My next step is to create my vision board for the year, that will incorporate these intentions along with others. My intention is to continue the journey I started in early 2011 when I discovered the WISH but which was somehow interrupted by a heartbreaking family event that left me with deep scars. Now, there’s a new start and I want to be brave, strong and healthy. For her. For the angel who brought me to this world and who’s now watching me from over the rainbow. Happy New Year, Mom……….

Definately laugh more and see the world through the eyes of a child….have more fun be less serious, act silly, share dreams and aspirations the more ridiculous the better…..say yes more than no, drink more food! share random acts of kindness. Be gracious, patient and merciful. Enjoy every minute of every day (as if there were no tomorrow) look for the diamond in every person that crosses my path. Uplift those around me. Stay connected to my Father. Eat-Pray-Love….these I believe will all lift me up and fill me with good health mentally, physically and emotionally. May 2012 be a year that rocks non stop! Whatever you believe you can achieve…..

I intend to eat healthy, with lots of green smoothies, salads, and fresh fruit, exercise not too much, not too little, but just the right amount, let myself let go of things that didn’t work out as I planned, instead of constantly thinking about how they could be different, and pampering myself more often instead running myself into the ground.

In 2012, what I need to work on is dealing with stress. I think when stress is overwhelming, even though i’m eating really good food, doing a lot of exercises, and so on, stress will always break down all the efforts I made… So I intend to work on it, try to let go of things I have no control over by doing more meditation and living in the present. Thank you Tera for giving this opportunity to stop a moment for the last 12 days in order to set my intentions for the next year. 2011 was a year of changes for me and I’m grateful for everything that happened because I’ve learned a lot from theses experiences. Now I have a clear view of where I’m going in 2012 and I’m sure this has helped a lot of people too!

Getting my diabetes under control is one area of intention that is a big one. I keep falling off the bandwagon here. Addressing my vision and dental work are two more big ones. With all the other areas addressed, these will no doubt improve; staying aware with regular checkups (already do that with the diabetes issue)is my intention, and then taking whatever health action is needed. Thanks, Tera. Your offerings have been a huge help to me this year.

My “health” intention is around integrity with my self, staying present with my true desires, and limiting the behaviours that start and keep me on the path of distraction and mindlessness. It’s to capture the moments like today where I saw the sky and felt the warmth and was amazed, and just stay outside. It’s what makes me happier in the long run, and the dog too, for that matter.

My greatest wish and intention is to finally heal my digestive system. I have gone through six weeks of candida treatment and I am still moderately on the anti-candida-diet. I hope with colonics and raw food to finally stop the gas and bloating.
I want to be strong again and have more energy.

So I will take care of my eating habits, not eat to much of nuts and seeds, not overeat, I will follow my daily Yoga and exercise programmes, get enough sleep and continue to work on negative thinking habits in my meditation.
