You could be having a rougher PMS than usual. I am not one who usually gets too much PMS, but there have been times around my period before during and after when I have been out of the weather.
The first sign of pregnancy for me was very sore nipples.
you dont feel signs of pregnancy right after your period, it takes over a week for your body to even think it's pregnant (egg implantation etc.)

before my period came on i was not feeling like i normally feel before a period.after it went off i got terrible headaches and was running a fever and still not feeling very well.
