When you're a breastfeeding mum you tend to spend quite a bit of time sitting around the house feeding your baby, particularly in the early weeks. One side effect of this is that it's often near enough impossible to get out and catch up on what's going on in the world.
Just today I came across a site which links to all today's major UK, Scottish, Irish and US newspapers online.
Since today's newspapers are something I rarely get the chance to pop out and buy anymore, I thought this was a great idea!
In fact, I lamented recently to my long suffering hubby that very often even when I do actually manage to buy the papers I rarely get the chance to read them.
I know. It's a terrible waste of money, not to mention a drain on the environment especially when they end up in my recycling pile untouched. (But, hey, as a breastfeeding mother I think I've done quite a bit to save the environment in other ways, for example, by not sending formula cartons and plastic to the landfill! ;))
Anyway I thought to myself, who needs the hassle of rushing out, a child under each arm, to the local newsagents when today's papers are just a couple of clicks away? (An additional benefit to reading today's newspapers online is that try as they might (and most likely will) babies can't reach out and rip up your computer like they're prone to do if you do have a paper copy of your newspaper!)
Instead breastfeeding mums can sit themselves down, latch their baby on and catch up with all that's going on in the world today simply by reading today's newspapers online...
