Tidbits

Posted Mar 06 2012 3:16pm

When Bo woke up one morning last week, I was sitting on the couch rereading a post I was preparing to publish on the blog.  I scrolled down to continue reading and he yelled, “Wait! I need to count all of the toes!”

Tidbits 4

Bo and I made blueberry muffins one morning last week and Anna was distraught, “I have crumbs all over!  I need a bath!”  The four of us also managed to eat almost an entire batch of muffins for breakfast.  I can’t imagine how much they will all consume as teenagers!

At the beginning of the year, I signed up to be on the yearbook committee at Bo’s school.  All parents have to sign up for a few volunteer activities during the year and mine were to make cookies for the Christmas program and to help with the yearbook.  What it has turned into is myself and one other mom developing the entire 48 page book in approximately a month.  While I enjoy designing pages, I only know the preschoolers, and obtaining photos, figuring out who is in the photo, etc. has been challenging.  This is part of the reason I’ve been so quiet on the blog – my “free” time has been devoted to the yearbook.  I have big plans to make the yearbook better and less stressful next year…

One of the trio’s favorite games is playing “lion.”  They take turns being the lion who crawls on the floor and growls and chases the other two.  I was washing my face one morning last week and this game ended up in my bathroom.  Apparently hiding behind the bathroom towels is a safe spot.  It’s interesting to watch them take turns and trade off on the lion duties.  Imaginations are in full force at the Sticky Feet household.

Bo’s vocabulary continually amazes me.  Clara and Anna fell asleep during rest time last week and when they woke up their hair was askew.  Bo looked at them and commented, “The babies look a little rugged.”  We were putting together a Humpty Dumpty craft one morning after breakfast and he was having trouble folding the arms correctly, “Humpty Dumpty is kinda rugged, can you help me?”  What four year old uses the word rugged?

Tidbits 5

This morning I was in the bathroom and Bo wanted me to refill his milk.  When I didn’t appear in the kitchen immediately he came to find me and complained, “You’ve been sitting there for ages.” I know a minute is like an eternity to a four-year-old.

Tidbits 3

Clara’s newest phrases are “Yep” and “Nope”.  Annoying and cute all at the same time.

Anna and I were talking while the kiddos were eating breakfast on Monday morning and I asked, “Are you Mama’s girl?”  She was quick to reply, “No! I Daddy’s girl!”  Clara came to my rescue though with a “My Mama!”

One of the ongoing arguments in our house is a chorus of “My Daddy!” “My Mama!” and eventual crying by someone as we assure them that we are everyone’s mommy and/or daddy. “I’m everyone’s Mama!” has become an expression I use frequently.

I made omelets this morning and Anna managed to put away an entire 2 egg omelet solo.  If you’ve met our little peanut, you’ll understand why this is a big deal.  As she was wiping her mouth with the washcloth she announced, “I’m done!  That was delicious!”
