The pregnancy confirmation

Posted Oct 22 2008 4:51pm

So I went to the doctor's office today. Those receptionist ladies suck. They were once again confused as to why I was there. Finally they decide not to give me a full visit, just a pregnancy test, so it only cost me $20.

I pee in the cup and a few minutes later get called back so the lady behind the desk can "break the news" to me that I am pregnant, but the line is faint. Of course it is, I peed 15 times today and I'm only a week late. Apparently that confused her further as they don't normally see pregnant women until they are 8 weeks along. She writes me the note for the health insurance being sure to use my maiden name (thanks, that shouldn't confuse the health insurance people at all) and not adding any of the dates of the miscarriages or my due date for this pregnancy, which the social worker specifically asked for.

I wrote another letter to the social worker explaining the note and adding all of the missing information. I sent that out so hopefully I'll have insurance in a few weeks.

I then called my mother and explained the situation. You can't bitch at the girl who's probably going to have a miscarriage. She just took all the information in and said she would talk to me later. Not so sure how that went. Now we just sit and wait, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. Kind of my life this past year.
