ooohhh... it was good! It was very very gory. Let me say that again - VERY graphic. Scenes you expect even an R movie to not show in their entirety are RIGHT there. In the early screenings, people were so profoundly affected by what they had seen, they wandered around the lobby in silence. I closed my eyes for the traffic scene, and the hair accessory scene, and the lawn mower scene, and the window scene, and... and... and... but could tell by N's reactions and the sounds on the screen that they were all - ick - .
HOWEVER - closing eyes through the gore in no way dimished the story of
The Happening, which was just fascinating. If you appreciated the Day of the Triffids, or The Chrysalids, then this movie will likely be appreciated. M. Night Shyamalan is a very creative man. And I can't really say more without totally spoiling the movie.
