Faking your pregnancy means faking the rest of your life. I had an Intended Mother come to me wanting a surrogate. Because she resides in another country and often travels to the US, she plans on faking her pregnancy while a gestational surrogate gives birth here in the states. The IM has the whole scenario worked out in her mind...and in actuality it would work. But the reality is, and I told her this, that she is going to be living a lie for the rest of her life. Someday and some way her child will find out. There is no amount of explaining that would appease a child who has been lied to all of its life because his or her mother wanted to appear "normal". I also find it very hard to believe that a woman wanting to be a surrogate would go along with such a scheme...never mind the psychological implications. What are your thoughts on faking a pregnancy under these or any circumstances? Would you help this woman anyway or would you send her away? I will be very interested in hearing your comments!
