Reebok Easy Tones - Simply the BEST Toning Trainers Ever
Posted Apr 21 2010 12:00am
So this is what I aspire to! I'm trialing Reebok EasyTone Trainers at the moment and am seriously impressed. Not being a very sporty person, I was a little worried I was going to have to start putting loads of effort into exercising after I'd agreed to participate in the trial, but that hasn't been the case at all.
In fact, I've found the shoes to be very effective as I go about my everyday business, just dropping the kids off to school, doing the grocery shopping, doing housework and going for my regular 30 minute walk several times a week. I can really feel them working my muscles because, although I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary, I can feel my leg and bum muscles aching!
Easy Tone trainers are also extraordinarily comfortable. They are quite possibly the most pleasant things my feet have ever stepped into.
So, although I've never really been a trainers sort of gal, I think it's very safe to say I've finally seen the light - and since they do actually add an inch or so to your height, even that's not an exaggeration!
So, how do they work?
Well, Reebok Easy Tones are specially developed to work muscles in you legs and bum that wouldn't normally get a work out unless you were to specifically focus on them. The shoes have built in balance pods that make you feel slightly off-balance and your body has to compensate for this by adjusting your posture. In doing so, the muscles in your calves, thighs and buttocks have to work harder and are strengthened and toned in the process. The clue is in the name - "Easy Tone"!
How do they feel?
When you're walking around in your Easy Tone trainers, just doing your everyday business, it requires a little more effort than it does in normal footwear and it feels like you're walking through soft sand. Even walking on flat terrain feels like you're on a slight incline.
Whilst this may sound very technical and maybe a little off-putting for some, as as trialist, I can assure you that you become very quickly accustomed to wearing the shoes, and knowing they require a little extra effort soon becomes addictive. After all, if you're going to be on your feet anyway, why not slip them on and benefit from some easy toning!
Any fashion appeal?
Easy Tone trainers don't just function fantastically but look great too, so an added bonus is their fashion appeal - even my own three children are hankering after them and they're only 10, 6 and 4! Since there is a huge range to choose from and they look good with bootleg style trousers and jeans, they quickly become part of your wardrobe.
I'm wearing mine constantly and it's been surprising how many people have commented on them and remarked on how trendy they are!
But, do they actually work?
I'm finding quite a difference in my leg muscles already. Yes, your legs will feel tired for a few days initially, but because the Easy Tones are so comfortable and you very quickly get used to how they feel, it's remarkable just how quickly you notice a difference.
In fact yesterday, as I drove home from collecting the children from school I noticed a young woman doing "my" walk and had to stop myself rolling down the window to call her over and recommend Easy Tones! That's quite a result for Reebok because I am probably one of the most un-sporty people on this planet of ours. I've never joined a gym and have to physically shove myself out the door to make myself doing anything remotely related to exercising. That's not to say I don't enjoy it once I get going, and I do benefit from the endorphins, but I'm just not a naturally physical person.
However, since the trainers are intended for people just like me, who want to feel they getting some benefit from just getting on with day to day activities such as doing the groceries, cleaning the house, dropping the kids off to school and occasionally squeezing in the odd walk, then the trainers are perfect. And, yes, they do work. I've only had mine for a week or so but already I can see my calves are looking firmer and a little more rounded and my legs and bum feel a little more toned than before. Obviously, it's going to take more than a week for the full benefits to be felt, but so far so good. :)
Can you do other exercises in Reebok Easy Tones?
I've noticed on the Reetalk:toning forum that there is some confusion about whether Reebok Easy Tones are suitable for running and trampolining and other such more physical activities. The simple answer is no. Easy Tone trainers are developed for walking and aren't stable enough for other more demanding activities. For running and the such-like Reebok have developed (and are also in the process of developing) other suitable trainers. For easy exercise that requires little effort, Easy Tones are the shoes that fit.
To buy or not to buy?
If you've been debating whether or not to buy a pair of trainers that will give you great results with the minimal of effort, then seriously consider these. I honestly can't recommend them any higher and am already planning my next pair! As the old song says, I'm "totally devoted to you" and although it obviously wasn't written about Easy Tone trainers, I certainly feel that way about mine!
All that's left for me to say really is go get yourself a pair, slip into them and get toned. Easy Toned!!
