If you’re reading this post in an email or an RSS reader, do me a favor and click on over to my website . It just doesn’t do it justice.
After weeks of tinkering on the backend of my site, I’m finally ready to reveal the brand-spankin’ new look and feel of a whole brand-spankin’ new The Infertility Voice. And I’m just going to go ahead and say I’ve gone and outdone myself this time. Because this site looks hot people. I ain’t even bein’ modest about it, neither.
Not only does it look awesome, it’s got a whole new organizational structure, lots of added resources , a new approach to advertorial content , and it’s even mobile-responsive . So if you’re on your tablet or your smartphone, my site should look just lovely and play nice with your device.
Behold: a new start.
So now that I’ve got this hot new website, what’s going on here? What exactly is this a “new start” of anyway?
Everything, folks. Everything.
With this redesign, I reclaimed my space, made it my own again. It certainly hasn’t felt like my own at all for the last year. It was just this weird, vacant lot where the grass had grown over. (Case in point: I had amassed over 30K spam comments alone in my spam queue.) But I’ve come back to town, mowed the lawn, yanked the weeds and done a full top-to-bottom reno. I haven’t gutted the place, but I’ve sure made it a lot more livable. For myself (which is definitely important) but for anyone who comes to visit here.
I have a few more things I want to add: a comprehensive blog series on the known egg donor process. A “first time visitor” guide. A page about infertility in film and TV. An updated media kit. A follow-up to my “What IF” video – but that might be on hold until 2015, when it’ll be the five-year anniversary of my video.
(I know, I know – five friggin’ years since I made that video, folks. In fact, in just four days from now, it’ll be my fifth blogoversary. Perhaps I will serve up some virtual cake and/or pie. We’ll see.)
Other things up on deck:
Advocacy Day: after a one-year hiatus (because baby), I’m coming back to Capitol Hill. Fertility Focus Telesummit: I’m speaking again for a followup interview. Book proposals: I’m going to seriously work on getting them out before this year is out. BlogHer: Maybe. Maybe.
Spring has sprung. Mercury is out of retrograde. I’ve weaned Judah . It would appear the stars have indeed aligned for a new start.
Hey – Do you hear, do you hear that sound? It’s the sound of the lost gone found. It’s the sound of a mute gone loud. It’s the sound of a new start.
