Everyday I see women who are struggling with issues surrounding their fertility.  Everyday.  Although this may sound all doom and gloom, almost all of these women are able to have successful pregnancies during their time with us in the clinic .  This makes my job one of the most rewarding and delightful jobs to do. I am blessed to be able to my job.

May mark s National pregnancy loss and awareness month.  I stumbled across  The Small Miracles Foundation last night via Pinky McKays’ announcement that she was supporting this great cause.  The Small Miracles foundation have started the new initative called ‘light a candle’ . This campaign aims to raise awareness of fertility issues, miscarriage, neonatal loss, still birth, premature birth and infant loss.  Light a Candle gives Australian families that have faced the loss of a child an opportunity to remember their loved ones in a special and lasting way.  To find out more, please click on the link.  The importance of creating a community to offer support during tough times is absolutely essential.  We can’t do things alone, as much as we might like to try, at some point calling on others can help move people through their darkest times. It is not uncommon for me, in my role as a Dr of TCM to be a part of this supportive community – offering wellness solutions, or support.

My heart goes out to women and couples who have lost a child.  It is so important to provide support to these families. It is equally important to make couples aware that there is so much that can be done to improve health and leave as little room for the heart wrenching occurrence of miscarriage, or  fertility issues with adequate health management.  Helping those who cope with their loss is the first priority. More often that not – people who have sugffered this sort of loss, do go on to wanting to experience the joys of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.  This is another step where roles such as mine can assist. When they are emotionally ready to reinvestigate pregnancy, through treatments the clinic , we at  The Pagoda Tree are able to assist their bodies (both physically and emotionally) and become the key to greater health and increased fertility – the best foundation to make, healthy babies.

Undoubtably you will know somebody who needs Small Miracles Foundation.  I encourage you to keep this post in the back of your mind, especially in May and help those around you who need support and care.
