So for all those non-Louisiana/Gulf Coast residents, MARDIGRAS weekend is here!! MardiGras day is on Tuesday, but the most fun/spirited times can be found the weekend before. Great times boozin' and celebrating all (or at least some) vices before sacrificing during lent. So you may be wondering what our plans are????
Well back in the day (like 2 years ago) J and I celebrated MardiGras like it was our last weekend to party - EVER!!!! Needless to say we have had some really fun times! But now I guess we have "settled" down a little and dealing with the large crowds, no toilets, and really drunk people isn't as appetizing as it once was. Here is Lafayette it is much more subdued than New Orleans, but hanging out and partying with Cajuns is unlike anything you could imagine!!!! The culture is so warm and inviting and the people are super friendly and LOVE to have a good time!
Tentative plans (as of today and will likely change): Saturday: We are actually headed to Baton Rouge for LSU Base.ball's opening weekend (for the opening of the brand new Al.ex Bo.x Stadium and the first games of the season) Sunday: Coming back to Lafayette (I don't think there is any parades) but we will get ready for the big days coming up Monday: Parades on Monday night (I will probably go into work for a few hours) Tuesday: Parades all day Tuesday - there will definitely be no working
So such a great time of the year, pretty much signals the start of the good part of crawfish season and crawfish boils. YEA and YUMMY!!!!!!!
So it will be really nice to have all of these fun distractions from worrying about TTC! So now I am on CD 14 and getting to the most important time of the month!!!!
