Okayso we haven’t left for the Caribbean just yet. And with all this snow outsideI’m hopeful that we will get to fly out of here tomorrow. My fingers and toes are crossed.
In the meantimethis snow day has given me a wonderful opportunity to draft one last post before we fly off to clear blue Caribbean water.
I am starting a book club and I hope you will join me. Since I started down the adoption pathI’ve been having really interesting conversations about adoptionadopting after infertility, pre-adoptionpost- adoptiontransracial adoptionsame-sex adoptionyou name it. One of the things I learned is that almost all of us have been touched by adoption in some form or otherand we all have feelings and opinions about it.
And as many of you knowI”ve even started a weekly Teachable Moments Columnprecisely about times when I learn something about myself or other people or when I have the opportunity to teach someone about my point of view.
NowI am starting a book club, appropriately namesThe Ultimate Adoption Book Clubwhich will focus on adoption stories. The idea is that it will be a little bit like talking around the water cooler. It will be stress freenourishingand an escape from the day to day. In the month of Marchwe will readThe Blind Side by Michael Lewis.
If you are interested in learning more about the club and how you can get involvedclick here. I hope you will join me.
