Spotting brown blood can be an indication of old, dry blood in the cervix. The most common reasons are sexual intercourse and irritation of the cervix causeing a little tear. Another common reason for this type of spotting is implantation bleeding. This occurs approx. 2 weeks after conception and 4 weeks since your last menstrual period
Miri has given some great information on causes of red and brown discharge -- but please remember that we really don't know what the cause of your problem might be, and you cannot get a diagnosis or treatment from an online discussion. If your discharge or pain persists or worsens, you should see your doctor for an examination and to discuss possible treatments. I hope you are feeling better!
