is it true that it's safe to have sex ten days after the last day of menstruation?

i am just wondering how to use the calendar method in birth control.they say that it is not applicable to me since i do not have my mentruation regularly.but i just want to know if having intercourse during this 10 days after menstruation get me pregnant.tnx a lot.
