I'm afraid I could have an ectopic pregnancy. Missed period, negative pregnancy tests, severe pain in lower abdomin and butt.

Posted by bdfoley

I'm having severe pain in my lower abdomin (around where i'm supposing my ovaries are) that radiates down to my butt. I haven't had a period in two months but every pregnancy test i've taken is negative. So far I've taken 3, spaced out over several weeks. The pain was the most unbearable right after a bowel movement earlier today, and no matter how I moved or tried to lay to make it feel better it wouldn't subside. It's more of a dull ache now, but at times it will randomly feel like something is almost stabbing me throughout that area. Please help!

if you even suspect that you might have an etopic you should go straight to the emergency room.

Its dangerous if you don't go and it is... and you'll find out the source of the pain even if it isn't an etopic

Even though etopic pregnancies do produce hCG and would give a positive result on home pregnancy tests.

Have you ever been tested for endo or perhaps even PCOS? Both conditions could cause irregular cycles as well as pain

I'm actually not sure what endo or PCOS is to be honest. But thank you so much for your quick response.

A little more info that may help:

I am sexually active, with my boyfriend of two years. I'm 20 years old. I smoke. I was on birth control religiously untill two months ago and didn't have much of an issue with periods. I had my period after my last pack but haven't had it since.

if you are on birth control then "periods" wouldn't be a problem because you are controlling the hormones artificially.

now that your body is functioning on its own supply of hormones it may take some getting used to... a readjustment.  Someone women it happens within one cycle and others may take up to six

Hi, I am having the exact same problem.

I came off the pill about 2/3 months ago and have many pregnancy symptoms of pregnancy including tiredness, nausea, very sore breasts and I have missed 2 periods now.

However, I am also having pains in my sides where my ovaries are. Is this normal? I too have taken pregnancy tests that have come out negative.

Although, I think I took one test too early and the other test that I did about 3 weeks ago could have been dodgy - the result came up instantly, but was faded, whereas the earlier test I did came up with a result in 2 mins - they were the same test brand.

Please Help!!
