I had read a few posts on other blogs/message boards I follow about a glow worm toy for baby's crib - basically a soft, plush "worm" that has a face that glows when you squeeze it. And it also plays lullabies. Everyone raved about this glow worm, and I decided I needed to try it out with Addie to see if it kept her company in her crib while she nodded off to sleep. So off I went to Wal.mart yesterday to pick one up...no glow worm, but there was the equivalent Fisher.Price Seahorse. Well let me tell you...this inexpensive toy is a M.I.R.A.C.L.E! I think it was about $17...and worth every penny! Yesterday she snuggled it before she napped, and barely made a peep as a result (normally there are at least 5-10 minutes of tears and shouting before she falls asleep). And then the miracle happened this morning...at around 4:45am I heard Addie rustling around in her crib. She started to cry a little and I thought, "Well, guess that's it for my sleep..." when all of a sudden I heard the seahorse lullabies start playing. She figured out to press the tummy (which glows as it plays) and activated the music...and then there was silence. She went back to sleep, and so did I. Didn't hear anything out of her again until 7 a.m. Yes, you read that right - 7 a.m.! I couldn't believe it. Do I ever love this seahorse. Let's hope it isn't a fluke and now that she has a bedtime buddy, she'll be a little more content to stay in her crib longer. My whole world could change if she doesn't get up until 7 a.m., truly. Here's hoping!
