How long do i have to be off the depo provera shot to become pregnant?

my husband and i have recently decided we want to start a family. i have been on the depo shot for the past six years and no longer have a menstrual cycle. i was wonering how long i would have to be off the shot to increase my chances of getting pregnant.

it can take anywhere from six months to a year for your body to readjust to itself.  Also factor in the natural changes in a womans cycle over the years- meaning don't expect your cycle to work the same way it did when you started the shot.

 

I would suggest you read Toni Weshler's "Taking Charge of your Fertility" to learn how to chart (if you don't already) so that you can learn how your body functions and know when your fertile window is pending after your body readjusts.
