I've seen Wordless Wednesday around and I'm short on words tonight, so why the heck not?
Yes folks, that's my bra. Well, it was my bra through the tail end of my pregnancy with Sam.
My boobs had outgrown everything I owned and I finally decided that prehaps it might be a good idea to go for a right and proper bra fitting.
Stephanie (my former IM) was working on inducing lactation and wanted to introduce me to her consultant. After one of our mid to late third-trimester OB appointments, we headed over to the hospital's little nursing supply store/lactation consultant office on maternity floor. Upon hearing that I was in dire need of a new bra, the LC whipped out her measuring tape a la Zorro, stretched it around me, noted the measurment, and with a slight raising of the eyebrows, flatly stated, "Wow."
She turned to the rack of Medela nursing bras, scanned the measurement conversion chart, and grabbed a 44GG bra. Fourty-four double-frickin' Gee. I tried it on and it fit, and I was pleased that I would not have to make that trip to Lowe's for metal plates and duct tape, which I thought might be the only things that would keep these suckers strapped down.
Frank had jolly good fun with crackin' jokes after he got over the shock of the size. "DOUBLE PARACHUTES! Does GG stand for 'Goodness Gracious? Gargantuanly Gigantic?" I couldn't help but laugh because damn, it was a big ass bra. I thought it would be funny to illustrate just how large my boobs were and took this picture of the twins. I then begged Frank to pose with my bra on his head and finally got him to agree by promising never to show anyone. So ummm, yeah - let's just keep this between you and me, okay?
That wasn't quite so wordless, was it? I guess I did have something to say, after all.
Note Kaelyn in the background eating chicken nuggets that she hijacked from the freezer and the stack of insulated boxes waiting to be filled with breast milk. Well, with Stephanie inducing lactation, I couldn't let those size 44GoodGawds go to waste, could I? But that is another story....
