As Dominion Fertility’s International Nurse Coordinator, the best part of my job is answering new patient questions. Most of these questions come via email, but I do get to talk with the patients in Europe where I currently live. Despite the long distance these questions travel, they are always handled confidentially and in a timely manner. Isn’t the cyber age great?
Many of the questions I receive teach me how people read and interpret our website. For instance, I recently answered a question about Natural Cycle IVF from a patient who thought she would be ineligible for the program because she had done a Clomid IUI cycle. What our protocol states is that a patient can’t take ovarian stimulation medication during a Natural Cycle IVF. The fact that this patient had had a previous treatment cycle would not prevent them from trying Natural Cycle IVF. I’m glad that I was able to clarify this.
Most other typical questions are about where/how the treatment process will begin. It helps if patients give me a brief history of their situation so I can outline the starting points. We have a lot of information on our website, but if you are just starting you may need help navigating the pages that apply to you.
