Recognize Mental Illness Awareness Week and Participate in World Mental Health Day

In Case You Haven't Heard

Sunday, October 10, 2010, is World Mental Health Day! World Mental Health Day receives organizational support from the World Federation for Mental Health and occurs on the last day of Mental Illness Awareness Week.

To cap off the week and celebrate World Mental Health Day , we wanted to provide some highlights of the things SAMHSA is doing and some great activities others in the field have done to show how important it is to discuss mental health problems and break down the misconceptions and barriers to recovery. To check out these initiatives and related resources, visit the NEW SAMHSA Dialogue Blog!

About the Blog

This week, SAMHSA launched a new blog called SAMHSA Dialogue . The goal of the blog is to provide an environment for SAMHSA's diverse constituency to engage and discuss SAMHSA's eight Strategic Initiatives. SAMHSA Dialogue will be a place where up-to-date information—including articles from SAMHSA staff, announcements of new programs, links to reports, grant opportunities, and ways to connect to other resources—are located.
