Favorite Memory #227

I used to say to Holly that I always wanted to know what it felt like to have someone get down on one knee and propose to me. Since I was the one who asked Holly to marry me, I thought that experience would never happen.

On February 2006 Holly and I were planning for our upcoming wedding. Our minds were mostly focused on catering, location, decorating, and overall wedding details. We had just purchased our rings and had a friend of ours hold them for us so we wouldn't be tempted to wear them everyday.

On this day in February, Holly and I made a trip to the beach. We had just sat down after setting up our beach site when Holly jumped up and asked if I would want to go for a walk. This surprised me because we NEVER do this. So I hesitantly said ok and stood up to go for a walk. As I started to walk away she just stood there on our blanket. Ok... now I'm confused. I turned to her and asked if everything was ok and that's when she got down on one knee.

My heart skipped a few beats. I was so surprised! She said the sweetest things to me (not sharing, that's just for me) and then pulled out a ring box with our wedding ring. When she asked me to marry her all I could do was giggle. Of course, I agreed. :) I didn't even care about the other beach goers watching our little moment.

She made me so happy that day and went above and beyond what I would expect.
