Didn't you know ...

Posted Nov 07 2010 12:00am

... that 5:30 am is the new 6:30am?

That's at least what Liana and Amaya seem to think now that the clocks have been turned back an hour :) To make matters worse, the girls are sick. Again. I think this is cold #8 or #9 since the beginning of summer. They literally are better for 5 days or a week before catching the next bug. How many cold different viruses can there possibly be? They've already been sleeping pretty poorly last week, with all the vomiting that's still going on, and the molars they're cutting, and they probably already felt the cold coming on - whatever the cause, our nights were rough. Then they got sick and were up coughing and gagging and sneezing and being overall miserable ALL.NIGHT.LONG. I had to get up on Saturday morning and go teach a cycle class after only about 4 hours of very fragmented sleep and it was pretty miserable. Last night was a little better, but like I said, then we were up at 5:30 because the girls somehow didn't get the memo on how awesome it is to get to sleep an hour longer, and on how much we all needed it.
Thankfully, after our very rough transition into Daylight Savings Time last fall, I at least knew what to expect. I've been working on pushing the girls' bed time back during the last week, which, however, did NOT encourage them to sleep any longer in the morning. It did help me get their nap and bed times back to normal pretty quick (even though they're now technically an hour later) and I really hope that in turn will help them sleep a little longer in the mornings, too. Because let's face it, even 6 or 6:30am is still plenty early in my book!
