Yesterday, Clara and Anna turned 2! I am sure I could drone on and on about how it doesn’t seem possible, how they’ve changed our lives, and how much we love them. Instead, I’ll just share some photos from our day and say that I am pretty lucky to be the mom of the cutest brown-eyed girl and the cutest blue-eyed girl ever.
Mike stayed home yesterday to help us celebrate. It was really a pretty typical day. I made cake batter pancakes (meh, not that great) for breakfast before we took Bo to school. Then Mike, the girls, and I went to the grocery store. We came home and played outside for a little while before we walked to school to pick up Bo. The kiddos wanted to play outside so they played while Mike ran in to make grilled cheese for lunch.
After naps, it was time to open presents. On Tuesday, Bo decided to go downstairs and take a peek at the presents himself. I was not pleased! I managed to piece the wrapping paper back together and luckily, the girls are 2, so they didn’t really notice the large rips. I tried very hard to not go overboard with gifts and was pretty proud of myself for mostly following the “something to wear, something to read, something they want, something they need” criteria. Aunt Manny’s gift of Bitty Twins did necessitate that the girls receive strollers though – and Bo is not pleased that he doesn’t have one too!
Mike made Bolognese sauce so we had that with spaghetti for dinner – and cupcakes – of course. I think the girls had a fun day, but this is only the beginning of their birthday fun. On Saturday, we’ll party again with Mike’s family in St. Charles.
