Ah, the internet. The internet is a blessing for anyone with chronic illnesses. It allows us to reach out, make friends, find support, and help/guide others. One of the best things I've discovered the wealth of blogs and support groups out there. There is one for almost every illness known and unknown to medicine.
If you see me on any of these groups, send me a message or a friend request. I often go by ladypythia or BarbaraRyan.
Here are some of my favorites:
One of my favorite blogs/site is now a forum - Chronic Babe!, which is run by my friend Jenni. It's new, but it's already a great place to connect, share, and meet friends. http://chronicbabeclub.ning.com/
MDJunction is a great place to get support and learn about your illness. I met my very good friend Viv on there (love you dear!) http://www.mdjunction.com/
Amazon Lifeline is a yahoo group dedicated to Lesbians with chronic illness. I have gotten a lot of support and information from the ladies there. They are awesome and inspiring. Candace, who moderates the group, is awesome. She is always there to help or give support. http://www.geocities.com/candacevan/communication.html
For the Twitters and Tweeters out there, there is Illness Twitters. This group was created by Lisa Copen founder of The Rest Ministry/Invisible Chronic Illness Week Organizer. I admire Lisa for everything she's done and continues to do. http://illnesstwitters.ning.com/
These groups are more specific to some of my illnesses:
