can you get pregnant 1 week before period

My doctor has been giving me vaginal ultra sounds and says i'm not ovulating and wants me to take clomid the 3rd day of my next period to make me ovulate but 1 week and a day before my period is due an ovulation kit said i was ovulating so is it possible to get preg 1 week before period and if so should I not get my period again if I did get preg?
