Bad News from The Ear, Nose, and Throat Dx

Posted Jul 31 2009 11:53am
The CT Scan the Ear, Nose, and Throat Dx showed that I have a large cyst in my left sinus. It's taking up about 50% of the cavity. Normally, they wouldn't do anything but watch it, if it's asymptomatic. I am having headaches, along with cheek, and tooth pain, which means there is an infection. Now, I have to have surgery to remove it - that's the only way it can be dealt with. I'm sort of freaking out about the cost and the dx thinks it's from an infection - and that it could be MRSA related. So, it has to be done soon. I'd rather not have surgery, but I don't a choice at this point.

I feel so many things right now - overwhelmed, powerless, scared, angry, sad, anxious, and a little releaved. I was starting to get a handle on everything and dealing well with it. But this just blew me away - I'm in shock.

I only got my sinuses checked because when I was a child, I had similar issues and I had a deviated septum. I was really hoping that the Dx would find nothing or just some congestion. I didn't expect this. (Although it's a New Moon in Cancer, with an Eclipse, so maybe I should have.)

So, after having an off night - I will get up tomorrow and deal with it. The Dx has a lady who handles all the surgical arrangements. I should have dates and prices then. I also have an Allergist appointment tomorrow. I wonder what he will say about this?
