“I had a BIG day!” – Bo

On Saturday morning, Mike and I had dentist appointments, and then we loaded the kids up and took them to Phillips Park in Aurora to see the zoo.  However, it wasn’t a big enough zoo to quench Bo’s thirst for a zoo visit.  He was adamant that he wants to go the “big zoo” since there weren’t giraffes, elephants, or the other “big” animals there.

The zoo did have peacocks and when we walked up their tail feathers were spread out and very beautiful.  Grandma Sherri said, “These are called peacocks.”  Bo, embracing his current fascination with potty talk, responded with a mischievous smile, “Poopcocks!”  Oh my.  I won’t embarrass Mike by adding his lovely addition to this conversation here, but let’s just say it isn’t something that I would want Bo repeating at school… Apparently, both little boys and big boys enjoy a strange sense of humor.

We also saw wolves, a mountain lion, llamas, goats, and numerous reptiles and birds.

After lunch at Colonial and naps for the babies (while I went out shopping, Grandma entertained Bo, and Mike and Grandpa worked on the deck), we headed over to the Touch-a-Tractor event that was just a few blocks away from Grandpa and Grandma’s.  Bo was able to sit on several tractors.  I actually don’t have any cute photos of Anna from this, but she was there!  I tried to take a photo of all three of them, but they weren’t in the mood to cooperate.  Big surprise!

After Touch-A-Tractor, the kids played in the yard.  It was such a nice day.  Bo loved riding his trike around the driveway and allowing it to coast down the slope (it definitely isn’t a hill…) on the other side.  The girls were running around too and were entertained by rocks for nearly half an hour.  They would pick up rocks, hand them to Grandma, take them back, run them over to the dump truck, then empty the dump truck and start all over again.

After dinner, it was time for pjs and an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Grandma turned the loveseat so they would have their own mini-theater.  It was cute while it lasted, but seconds after this photo was taken they were all running around the living room playing again.  I think they all sat still and quiet for a maximum of three minutes. :)
