1 Week until Gender

Posted Sep 22 2008 11:05am 1 Comment
Yesterday my ultrasound was rescheduled from August 28th to August 14. I will be 18 weeks 1 day. Hopefully not too early to find out the gender. Finding out the gender is very important this time around. It will tell whether we need to get a double stroller and a new monitor or if we need an entire boy wardrobe on top of the stroller and monitor. After 2 girls, we have enough frilly baby clothes to dress half the town, but alas you can put a boy in pink only so often before people start talking about you.

I've been forgetting to mention a few things about this pregnancy. I'm still occasionally throwing up. It sucks but this is apparently what I get after 6 pregnancies with no morning sickness. I'm still exhausted. I need at least a 2 hour nap every day. I don't nap. I hate napping. It makes me feel unproductive. But I do it because if I don't I will literally pass out wherever I happen to be. They claim fatigue goes away during the second trimester, the honeymoon of pregnancy, but not for me. I will have no peaceful time before the hugeness comes. Oh and I can feel the baby kick. For a while now. Probably since about the 13th or 14th week. Very reassuring since we didn't rent a Doppler this time. No one else can feel it, but that's the same as last time. No one else can feel anything until somewhere after 20 weeks.

Finding out the baby's gender is a really big deal and big decision.  Although we had a few family members that didn't want us to tell them, we felt it was important to know.  We even used a Chinese Gender Calendar to find out early.  The calculator wasn't accurate, but our OB certainly was.
