What's a sensible portion?

Posted by Jacqi B. Patient Expert

So we are trying to control our portions. But how do you know what is the right sized portion? I was surpsied that a colleague thought that my lunch (see my blog at Journal of a photo-dieter was 'a lot of food'. Was she right?

I think that portion for a lunch looks absolutely fine to me and the majority of it was healthy fresh fruit. I think many people can be quite blind to what they eat but focus a lot on what other people have. Reading your blog post also reminded me about how hard it is to eat around people following strict diets as they are so preoccupied with what they and everyone else is eating. Sometimes their comments make me want to eat more - must be the rebel in me!
