New Find

Posted by Lis S.

I just bought my first pilates video and am loving it. It's Denise Austin's mat workout based on the work of J.H. Pilates. There are 2 20-minute sessions on the DVD. The length is perfect. It's easy to fit it in to your routine, even when you're really, really not in the mood. She's pleasant to listen to and it's easy enough for beginners. I've been doing it for two weeks and already notice some changes...mostly in the way I feel.

Pilates works the core. I am glad it is working for you. Keep it up. One of these days, I am going to take a strictly pilates class -- not mixing practices stuff -- pilates all the way. Let me know who it goes!
I've met Denise Austin and spoke to her on the telephone for work purposes. The woman really knows what she's doing, and she's very inspiring. For me, pilates is a great workout, a great way to work up a sweat on days when I can't fit the gym in or want to rely on myself rather than gym equipment. Another great source for pilates dvds is Windsor Pilates.
I bought the Mari Windsor tapes off an infomercial a while back. She is also pretty good, and there's a variety of workouts you can do. There's a 20-minute one, and an hour, plus you get some cheat notes for easy things to do away from home - even in a hotel room.
I've heard from a few of my clients that the Denise Austin videos are really great! I don't use videos at all, so when my pilates clients ask me which ones I recommend, its good to hear what people like so I can spread the word. Its cool that the video is working for you and that Denise is such an inspiration! I'll keep this in mind next time someone asks me what I recommend.
