Spoke to pulmonary, tracheostomy not needed, oximetry to be announced

Good news everyone!!! My Pulmonary Functions Test (PFT) results were read today and I DO NOT need a tracheostomy and ventilator yet. We still need to stay on top of my respiratory status and continue to closely monitor my condition, hence I have CREATED a PFT order for October-November. The oximeter / capnometer (ETCO2 monitor) have been upgraded in priority as part of the respiratory monitoring project of 2009 and should be ordered in the next month or so.
Again, I am quite glad and happy to announce that I do NOT need a tracheostomy and ventilator at this time.
