An Arizona man who was left blind when he was hit by a local school teacher while on his motorcycle has filed a lawsuit against the school and town in which the accident happened. The teacher was en route to a training session when she failed to yield at an intersection and slammed into the plaintiff on his motorcycle. The suit said the district is liable for employee conduct and the town is liable for the “inherently unsafe” intersection. Read Article: Arizona Republic

-Schools for the blind are excellent at teaching patients how to operate in and out of the home
-Home modifications conducted by a professionally trained consultant that will survey the home environment to make modifications for safety, lighting to maximize remaining vision for those will and other modifications specific to the individual’s capability and environment to increase independence in performing ADL’s
-A may be beneficial and included in the patient’s Life Care Plan.
