I am a huge fan of the TV game show Jeopardy and last night they had an entire category about
helping hands, helper monkeys from Boston, Massachusetts. How cool is that!
I much prefer Labrador retrievers to monkeys but these animals are amazing. These helper monkeys have a working life of 20 to 30 years as opposed to the 12 year life expectancy of most Labrador retrievers. Helping hands has a very interesting website if you're curious about helper monkeys or would like to donate. Although a helper monkey is not my ideal service animal I can see how beneficial they are to the spinal cord injury community.
