Assistive technology is great when it works

Posted Jan 14 2009 8:40pm

Unfortunately assistive technology sucks when it does not work. For the past few days I have been experiencing problems with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.0 software. Every time I tried to start the software I received a Microsoft C++ error and the software would not load.

So I e-mailed technical support after uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no avail. E-mailing technical support at a cost of $9.95, I still have not heard back from them but surprise surprise I finally got Dragon to load at least one time...

The only option I have in regards to typing without Dragon NaturallySpeaking is an on-screen keyboard with Word prediction from click n type. I have a link to the free software on my website if anyone is interested in it.

So if you do not hear from me blog wise for a few days it's because I am trying to slay a dragon I would appreciate it if nobody called me St. George though. Have a great afternoon!
