Carole and I as well as Gambit and Abra participated in the 2009 edition of AIDS Walk Boston. It is a 6 mile walk from the Hatch shell beside the Charles river upriver into Bookline and back down the Cambridge side of the River and back. This is a cause Carole and I always try to support. To that end I used to do the AIDS bike rides from Boston to New York when they still existed. But this walk is a fun event that supports AIDS Action. We and many of Carole's team members from Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program all walked together in lime green T-shirts. (Well the dogs did not wear them.) It was a beautiful day and the crowds that came out for this event were nice and large. As usual for this type of thing, I went on crutches. Six miles is not past my limit but its long enough that my arms and hands get pretty tired and a little sore. The walk was probably harder on the dogs (a bit warm for their fur coats) than for me. All in all it was a good day and another great cause!
